ZR-1 on the lift for the first time.
 

Ok put the car on the lift today to browse around. Found the oil pan missing one bolt, and two exhaust manifold bolts missing. One on the drivers and one on the passenger side.

Where can one obtain these three replacement bolts?

the oil pan one is metric- if you don't need the exact stock part, you could source that locally, but you could probably get one here on the forum.

Are you sure about the manifold bolts? The stock manifolds only use like 7 of the available 16 holes drilled into the cylinder head. the one on the back corner is one of the ones GM did not install and most people freak out when they first notice it.

You may be correct, it was the rear missing on both sides. Will check it again tomorrow.

Found an oil pan bolt and fixed that. Most of the oil pan bolts were loose.

There was a ton of oil/ grease build up on the bottom side of the car that had blown back across the floor pans, trans tunnel, rear end housing. Found that interesting for a 20k mile car. All that is spic and span now thanks to simple green!

It looks as though the root cause of that oil residue was from the oil cooler lines. Someone at some point did some brazing on the connection crimps and solved that problem.

I noticed some undercoating had been used on the front feet portion of the floor boards? Would this have been from the factory or has someone added such?

Factory undercoat on the floor pan was done at Bowling Green plant.

Man

I was in such a hurry had to pull the midyear out take it across the road because of the rain coming in. Run back across the street put the z on the lift.......just didn't have time.


But when your down at thanksgiving you'll get a birds eye view!
