Brand new Chevy's already in the shop.

Yesterday it goes into limp mode and the check engine light comes on. Dropped it off at the dealership this morning. You buy brand new so you won't have problems but there's no guarantee with that either.

Yep. Have to agree with that. These new cars have much more technology in them and along with that comes lots of parts. New doesn't guarantee anything but at least you have a warranty to get it fixed instead of doing it yourself.
Today you have to be an electronics tech, hydraulics engineer, experienced mechanic and all around jack of all trades to fix some of this stuff.

Thank god for that. They gave me a 2014 Z71 pickup as a loner car. I'd like to get another pickup truck and have always liked the Z71's but I'm not sure I like how boxy the new style is now that I have one to drive until my car is fixed.

Fixed. The clip that holds the actuator rod for the turbo had come loose.

How did you like the new GEN 5 Small block Chev in that truck? Was it an L83 5.3L or 6.2 L86 420hp?

Or the 300+hp LV3 V6?

Those V8's are slightly detuned GEN 5 LT1's. VVT, Direct Injection, DoD?

This is the Chev truck from SEMA this year. Carbon brakes, L86 engine

It was the V8 Hog. It had plenty of power. It would light all four tires up when you would tap the peddle. One of my coworker said we should take it out mudding before you take it back to the dealership. I laughed and said with my luck I'd probably flip it over and cave the roof in. Nope! Not a good idea especially with a price tag of over $44k.

Cool, that direct injection sure helps the low rpm torque.

Thanks.

In Texas you see more trucks on the road than cars. The only thing more important than a Texans truck is his women. And even at that its neck and neck lol!

John I get made fun of for only owning three guns by my buddies. When I first moved here and everybody caught wind that I was from California oh boy! It was open season on me. I was nicknamed Hollywood. I was told that only queers and weirdos come from California. There were a few fist fights settled in the parking lot back when I first moved here. That's the only way I got any respect. I was 25 at that time. It wasn't the welcome wagon that's for sure.
