LT-5 Cams
A few years back I picked an old magazine up off the floor, the pages opened up to the car restoration ads in the back...included was an ad for a cam restoration company. On a whim, I called to see if they could do an LT-5 cam.
When I inquired about the LT-5... the soft spoken gentleman on the line laughed and said, I have not heard that name in a long time. You see I did cams for Callaway including an LT-5 cam that never made it to production. The man on the other line was Dave Generous....Dave also did the cam for a car you might know...the Callaway Sledgehammer. Dave was nice enough to do the cams for my 90, and has since retired and sold off his equipment.....but not before doing 4 more intake cams for me and two more exhaust. Dave was then nice enough to sell me the cam masters for the LT-5, 5 spare LT-5 cams, and a copy of the Sledgehammer cam. I feel lucky to have met Dave, he is a gentleman and the last of a dying breed of old school engine masters Sledgehammer cam http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...icture4376.jpg http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q...icture4375.jpg |

We all got a big surprise when Paul came over to the trailer and wanted to see the on board video of the race. The Vette was behind Paul most of the race until Paul had problems and had to get his backup car out in order to finish. Paul was real nice to everyone and my mom talked about it for years to all of her friends about that special day for us all. Those were great times back in the 80's up at Road America.
