Could use some prayers and positive thoughts.

Our family farm is 9 miles south of West, Texas. Father in law is resident of the nursing home. Sister in law is nurse at the assisted living centre next door to the nursing home. Sister in law (Robyn) has many sever lacerations but her eyes are OK.

Father in law was unknown for several hours but we have just been informed he is stable in ICU at Hillcrest Baptist Hospital. He has glass lacerations in his abdomen and an enlarged stomach due to impact but is now stable.

Too many friends in that small a community. Population of tiny city where the farm is located (Aquilla) is just over a hundred and West is about 2500 plus or minus a few hundred that follow the crops with combines and other equipment.

Too many families are going to be devastated mentally and financially over this tragedy.

Hey Wayne,

I also grew up on the farm and live by my home agricultural hometown of 2100. I can imagine how the people of your area are going to be affected by this.

My thoughts and prayers to your family, friends, neighbors, and everyone affected by this tragedy.

Thank you everyone. Just got off the phone with father in law. Sounded a bit still shaken but OK. Lost one of his hearing aids but that is not a worry as it is replaceable. Doesn't seem to be any big damage but he will need time to heal the glass wounds. He had gone to the window to watch the fire across the street at the fertiliser plant when the explosion occurred which is why he got glass shards and full force of the shock wave.

Have not heard from cousin who is fireman and another cousin who lives in the woods just behind the plant but everyone else is accounted for now.

This has been a long day and most of it spent on the phones to family and hospitals. Trying to get information from the opposite side of the world is difficult at best.

Thank you again. Very much! It is very much appreciated. Having this brotherhood is a valuable asset.

This was a massive explosion, folks. They are saying subatomic that measured 2.1 on the richter scale 80 miles away in Dallas. I've been through West many times. It's a great stop along I35 on the way to Austin/San Antonio. In fact, I stopped there a couple of months ago on the way to Corey's.

Wayne, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Your father in law is lucky to be alive. Please keep us posted on your two cousins. Scott said it best. Your pain is our pain.

Stay strong, Brother.

Best wishes and prayers to the family Wayne. My brother was in Boston, standing between the two explosions with his granddaughter. They are fine, but it really opens your eyes. Hope all is well with the entire family. -Steve
