New Member, future ZR1 owner

Hello, I just joined the forum. I'm an engineering student from Mass and a Corvette enthusiast, my car is a 1992 Corvette, completely stock 6-speed, and it's Polo green and in mint condition :D

I bought it in May and have driven it over 13k miles already, not a single regret. It has 113k miles on it, but still runs strong! I had a new clutch put in and changed the water pump myself (I'm sure some of you know how bad LT1 water pumps are).

Anyways, there is only ONE car I'd rather have than my car, and it's a '90-'95 ZR1 6-speed. I'm starting to save now, only three more semesters of college until I hopefully buy one. I'll be here trying to learn as much as possible about the LT5 until that point. If any of you are in Mass and are willing to meet up and talk about your ZR1 let me know

I dreamed of a Z for almost a decade before owning one myself....

There are many z owners in your area but most are hibernating now

Once you drive a ZR-1 you will be hooked!!!!

Welcome to the group. If your looking to learn about the LT5, you've come to the right place. I've learned alot already and have only been here 6 months.

Welcome to the Brotherhood of the Beast! Lots of Z pilots in your area, tho most of 'em are "wintered up" just now. No matter. You've come to the right place!!

Welcome to the board, Polo. There is much to learn. But not to worry. You can't come up with a question that can't be answered here.

You should visit the ZR1netregistry website. Here's the link:

http://www.zr1netregistry.com/

There is a ton of info there.

Again, welcome aboard...

As an engineer you will appreciate what the ZR1 has to offer. First thing in the spring you need to hook up with some fellow members and go for a ride. If your ever down the Jersey Shore you are more than welcome to drive mine.

Thanks for all the replies guys and girls, I appreciate it. I know a few people around here that have ZR1's and I've talked to them before, none of them have a bad thing to say about the car. From what I hear they're pretty reliable too?

In the spring I definitely plan on meeting a few ZR1 owners and hopefully going for a ride :) Buying a Z will be a great graduation gift to myself someday!

The LT5 is truly a feat of engineering, an engine way beyond it's time. It's amazing that a ZR1 went 175mph for 24 straight hours, now THAT'S endurance!

Just a quick pic of my car!

Wow. For a minute I was like, "Oh, crap! That's not a ZR-1. This dude thinks he has a ZR-1. He's gonna be shattered!" Then I reread your post that this is your CURRENT car and your saving for a Z.

Whew! That was close...
