Anybody ever instal a G.M. VKE 1000.
 

I just bought one of these,havent got it yet but was curious how involved the install is on a 91.Thanks.

I didn't even know they existed but now I have to get one for my 90. I was just complaining what a pain in the a$$ opening and locking the door was. I am spoiled with my other cars of course.

Will it work on a 94? I don't really like the PassKey system.

I'm pretty sure that is what Haibeck installs and works well.

I hate the PKE system too....

Wonder how hard it is to install.

Shut the PKE off, You can still use the remote to lock and unlock your doors. If you need directions let me know i can scan my book.

How tough is the install for door lock functionality only... No alarm?
Where / who sells the G.M. VKE 1000?

I installed a Clarion keyless entry, no alarm, just door lock/hatch functionality. wasn't too difficult once I figured out how to wire in multiple relays to trigger the door locks. The GM system may be easier, I suspect.

I did the VKE on my 89 years ago.. I have a DEI keyless kit now.. basically the same but with an added channel..

Where did you get a VKE 1000 and how much was it?
