1990 Tires

Alright, I don't know much about NCRS stuff, but I found out recently that my car has the original front tires on it. Car is a 1990 #1786, I don't know the actual production date of the tires. I'll be getting new tires shortly, these are up for grabs for freight if they are worth anything. Other than that, they hit the garbage. They did pass inspection this year, with 40,000 miles. They should not be run as regular street tires, but thought they might be worth points to some of you guys.

Re: 1990 Tires

As a courtesy, I listed my 1990's GY GSC's on the other forum for $40 a pair. Shipping was twice that, but there is demand amongst the NCRS collectors.

It would be much easier to throw them out, but all you really have to do is tape or strap the pair together and send them as one parcel.

Yes..this guy from NC kept pestering me to sell them..I did not actually put out a formal for-sale advert on the forums, but just a mention on one of my pic posts that the tires shown on the photos from the day i got it were too old to run. I was getting new ones and would sell them for practically nothing just to get them in the hands the right people who show these cars.

I actually dodged the guys emails for a few days because it was inconvenient at the time, but what i did was took them to the UPS depot (2 mi from my house luckily) and had them weigh them to get actual shipping charges to his zip code. emailed him to confirm and came back the next day and sent them for about $75 plus the $40 for the tires themselves.

For the most part, and in other circumstances, you should run a knife through the sidewall so somebody like a used tire place won't be tempted to sell them.

Thanks Mike100. Still no bites thought. Guess I'll hang to them just in case, they don't take up much space.
