BEWARE Vista-Pro components, and ebay seller Air_parts

Consider yourselves warned... If any of you have followed my saga of A/C issues ( http://forums.corvette*forum.com/c4-t...-with-oil.html ), you already know the story, but if not, here's the summary:

Air_parts sold me an evaporator last year, for my 1991 ZR-1.
It fit, but after lengthy troubleshooting, was determined to be built incorrectly. A critical tube for routing of refrigerant was missing.
I contacted the manufacturer, Vista-Pro, to confirm my suspicion that the unit was incorrectly built.
After confirming this, I spoke with Air_Parts, who agreed to take back the defective unit and replace or exchange it.
I shipped the unit back to Air_Parts, in Arlington TX, where it sat at the post office for over 2 weeks, never to be picked up. Air_Parts claimed the post office couldn't find it -- yet any time I called the post office they told me it was waiting to be picked up.
Air_Parts has now become uncommunicative.
Vista-Pro has also ceased to return my e-mails.

Apparently, Vista-Pro was only interested long enough to get the lot numbers, after that they had no use for me.

I'll never buy another product made by Vista Pro (which includes Ready-Aire, Ready-Rad, HBx, Truck Tough, and Tractor Tough) and if you value your time and money, you'll do the same. The same goes for ebay seller Air_Parts out of Arlington, TX. You've been warned!

Thanks, Frank.

EDIT: no more emails need to be sent at this time, feel free to read the thread but let's hold off on any more pressure until needed :-)

Vista Pro contact: RobertSigler, RSigler@vistaproauto.com

Quoted from last communication from Robert:
Good Morning Andrew – Your conclusion about the missing tube is correct – it is a manufacturing defect. Looking at the photos I can see that it was omitted during the manufacture. The tube needs to be in place to direct the refrigerant to the entire core inside surface, following a prescribed path through the core in order to obtain the heat transfer surface needed to fully absorb the heat from the air flowing over the exterior fins.

I believe you had mentioned that you received two units and both were in the same condition – minus the internal tube. Do you have any information that you can share about the data on the carton label(s) or tags that may be attached to the units? This will allow us to track the manufacture location and date to try to quarantine any others that may be out there. Thanks very much for your input. Have you located a correct part as yet? Let me know as I may be able to locate one for you.

Well, it looks like you guys had some effect! Air_Parts has gotten in touch with me, they claim that they'll be sending me a UPS call tag for the evap (once USPS gets it back to me, of course), and then shipping me a replacement unit. Of course, by now, I no longer need a replacement unit, but I guess it'll be on hand in case any other Z brother needs to re-do their AC system.
