Modified brake rotors.

They want us to turn this into that. Its for Yamaha sport bikes. 6 of them at first. Next order will be for QTY 100. http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...-47-25_355.jpg

Pretty wild. I wonder how they will hold up with that much braking surface/material removed? I know alot of the drilled and dimpled/slotted aftermarket rotors from China and other countries have been rather dubious for fractures and cracks and such at the drilled and slotted areas.

Well I just finished the program for it. I'll have them set it up monday morning on the CNC mill.http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/n...-33-37_829.mp4

How many hours did that take ?

About an hour to create the toolpath. Luckily I didnt have to draw all of the geometry from a blueprint. This guy provided a model of the part that I could import into Esprit cam which makes it much easier to program. Once the part is set up on the mill the actual cut time is only about 15 minutes a piece.

What would be really wild is what happens if the front rotor breaks apart at one of the thin cross-sectional areas and the brake is applied at speed. OUCH!!

Is that weird design for some kind of function? Or just to look cool/weird?

It looks like you could do some woodshop while riding...
