Part number for MSD Plug Wires
Hi Guys,
Can anyone please tell me the MSD part number for the LT5 plug wires? I did a search on Summit but it comes up with 3 different part numbers and reckons they all suit LT5. Also, what colour do they come in, they look to be red with grey ends is this correct? Thanks Matt |
Re: Part number for MSD Plug Wires
Matt,
not sure of the part # but I have them on my motor for the past 2 years. They are RED with black/gray boot and in the 8.5mm config. Recommended along with the MSD ignition coils. |
Re: Part number for MSD Plug Wires
When you say black/grey boot, what do you mean? are they the same colour as OEM boots?
I like the stock look with black boots as my car is also red and black and I have black silicon hoses. |
Re: Part number for MSD Plug Wires
Spark plug boots are black, coil boots are gray.

Hey Blackwidow#2 - I only just noticed your car - we have one of the original Black widow cars here in Australia, I saw it at a show a few years back - looked awsome.

What color was the car?

Re: Part number for MSD Plug Wires
Hi Blackwidow#2,
It was Green. I checked here and was trying to match up which of the 8 it is. http://www.zr1netregistry.com/ZR1_faq.htm#66 but no green ones. Then I found this - it was up for sale in 2007 - that would have been somewhere around when saw it. Looks like it is number 5 and must have originally been Black (and says 1990 model, not 1991) http://www.ls1.com.au/forum/archive/...p/t-71874.html Matt |
Re: Part number for MSD Plug Wires
Hi Matt,
The reason I asked the color was because I was rather sure 1 of the cars had the engine removed. So I am now sure of which one it was. The car you saw has the black widow #5 engine, but it's not the #5 chassis. They were separated. If you read that ad you referenced, it talks about Dick Guldstrand installing the engine in the car that's for sale. It never really says that the car (body & chassis) is the black widow car. Hope this helps. Did you get your plug wires ordered? George |
