New 89 VIN Found
I posted this in the other Prototype Thread also, so the info would be together with the other info also.
Ok, I know I am a new guy here and everyone as a group seems to accept people that do not own ZR-1's just yet unlike a small group of Corvette Challenge owners. But I have some info that should help out everyone that is trying to keep track of the 89 ZR-1's. I know that GM has in their possession 2 89 ZR-1's and they are number 1 and 3, I have also tracked down the VIN for this car this car that is pictured here. The VIN is 1G1YZ21J5K5800013 This is the press car that was used by Morrison for Press event and advertising for GM, Goodyear and Mobil 1. This car is just like the record breaking car except for the fuel cell in the original car. http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...-LT5ZR1-03.jpg |

The earliest ZR-1 known to exist is my 88 s/n 43. You need to read both threads started by Eric on his cars and the generic thread, much of what you were asking was posted earlier in these threads. There is more info avaiable but we would have to shoot you once we told you. Tyler |
Re: New 89 VIN Found
Apologies to raise this thread from the dead, but looking for information on 580003, which mentioned in each post of this thread.
Is it still with GM Heritage foundation? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...omments-anchor In this auction on BaT, the seller believes he has the engine from 5800003. To me, the stamp looks like 5800008, but it's still an important piece, I would think. Would love to hear others comments. |
Re: New 89 VIN Found
Its a three, its totally a different shape than the other 8 in the stamp it would be the same if it was an 8. If you save the photo and zoom in you'll see its a 3. very early engine but the photo sucks so really its whatever I'm not a buyer of this car.
The front bumper isn't aligned correctly and the easy to remove black trim was not removed prior to paint and that to me is some Lazy *** work. So it very well could have been in a collision in the past but who knows. |
