Stickys

Can we get Sticky Threads for some of the "more discussed topics" such as:

Exhaust/Headers
Rims/Tires
Vacuum
Part #'s

etc

Send a PM to Z Factor to see what he thinks. Would be nice to have some new stickys. If he says ok I can do it for you. GC

I have engine, brake, coolant parts strung out on both sides of my Z at the moment and am thinking of working on the differential also :sign10:

I have subscribed to many threads regarding each of the issues. I was thinking of just posting up a copy of all the threads I subscribed to as that would be like a techncial manual for almost all components on the Z ;)

What I do rather than start threads regarding my technical quesitons is go back months and even years finding an appropriate thread and start it up again as many of those old threads are superb in detail describing solutions to issues I run into. :happy1:

I think it's a great idea.

There must be a dozen Header-Install threads out there and it seems each contain bits of important information or tips that the others lack.
I know search is my friend but I'm wondering which thread(s) I've missed that cite that one important step I'll surely miss!

I consider myself to be in the mechanically challenged minority here, so while I'm thankful to all those knowledgeable that have shared in
those dozen threads, it would invaluable to have a sticky to serve as a one-stop shopping knowledge-base for Header-Installs
and other projects or subjects so often revisited.

My car is up on a KwikLift with the battery disconnected and inner wheel-well panels off and I'm going over those dozen threads I've bookmarked.
I noticed several members shared the number of hours taken to button it up. The only thing I'm sure of right now is that I'll be able to set a new,
longest time taken record - and that I ain't telling.

AH....I now understand what you are suggesting. That would be hard to pick out the important facts from various threads I would think. One would almost have to visit all associated threads to define a "sticky" having ALL the important steps you need

A good sticky would be a job for a good technical writer.

Eliminating the commentary that is not helpful or that is tangential and adding pictures to create a good sticky ;)

Are you talking creating a new sticky from the knowledge base of several threads or are you talking creating a new sticky by just making a sticky out of the best thread you can find for any specific technical issue :icon_ques

We are going to start a new section in which some of the more technically inclined members have agreed to contribute. There will be A-Z descriptions, and in some cases have accompanying pictures.

It is on the to do list for this year, so keep your eyes open for it.

I wasn't suggesting that anyone would pull informative details from several threads to create a new sticky. I was thinking more along the lines of a new sticky in which links to other related forum threads - and even non-forum resources (like linking to Nicks How-To write up, BCVettes Header write-up, the Registry Store SW Headers details, Swain-Tech or Jet Hot websites, etc) could be centralized, and future posts would build on that. The new sticky would be a living document that could always be easily found.
