Bad day Defined- BMAD meets road gator

Well at 4:28am this morning on the way into work at 70MPH I was hit by a road gator. Needless to say a road gator is a tire remnent left by the friendly 18 wheeler who long left the scene. I avoided most of the pieces but obviously caught one on the leading edge.

I'm sorry to hear that happened to you man. Good thing you were only doing 70mph and not 170... These trucks can be a real hazard on the road. Last month I was on the freeway when a dump truck lost it's load ahead of me and my car was showered with rocks and debris. I need to have the whole car repainted as there are at least 30 or 40 spots of damage on the car. I am just so glad it was my daily driver and not my Z.

Good luck on the repairs.

Whoa!! All we have to dodge in Dallas are drug dealers and hoes. Sorry to hear about the damage.

Ouch, that left a mark!:censored:

Darn nice of the guys at BigMouth to help a customer out, kudos to them!

I like that, road gator....never heard that one before.

I think that may the only hazzard I don't see too much of in my neck of the woods....but we have plenty of others to keep me busy.

Well under the car as opposed to over the hood and roof is probably the good news. You may notice I still used the center support rod for the lower spoiler system to aide in integurity. The instructions say to drill into the left and right bumper support structure only but I think the way I have it keeps it in place even after a pretty significant hit. And the debries screen worked

After pulling it off last night, I can see it will take a bender to get the factory bends to look right however somebody may still want this piece for their track car it can be rubber malleted out. If anybody wants it they can have it for shipping otherwise it heads to the trash. The debries screen is not included as I will need to transfer that to the new BMAD unit.

I agree Tom they really stepped up on the replacement cost and have already sent me the FEDEX shipping notice for the replacement.

It catches a lot of the leaves and paper and crap out here in AZ. I love it but I dont think they are making the screens anymore. Which is a shame as the design and workmanship on the debries screen is outstanding. Its a solid stainess frame with a stainless mesh insert thats replaceable if needed. I was lucky enough to find one on the other forum. I thought I didnt have a chance in hell of finding one but another member bought the whole setup for a track car and answered my looking to buy BMAD debries screen post. He said he had one up in the attic and said to himself when would I ever install this on my track car? Lucky for me and money well spent.

I know the feeling. While on the way to Bowling Green last year, I was hit by a gator. Caused over $700 worth of damage to the front of my '07 Z06. Just cosmetic, but it hurts just the same.

Damn Daryll, looks like a solid whack. Thankfully there is no major damage.

We need to start calling you snowman! The white bra seals it.

Considering the noise it made when I hit it you might think so. It was a sickening sound. Im sure Jthomas can relate as he posted about hitting one with his Z06.

I've heard of people hitting a deer, but isn't a Moose on the large side? How did you not see it? :jawdrop:
