Tire Size Differences

I currently have the Sumitomos on my '92 ZR-1. They were on the car when I purchased it, however the rear tires, albeit 315's, seem small.

I'm considering the B.F. Goodrich G-Force T/A KD that is for sale on this forum, but are they physically larger, particulary the rears over the Sumitomos?

I'm looking for a tire to "fill up" the rear like the factory Goodyears did, and stay within the stock sizes.

Thanks

I've been running 335s on the rear for ages, on the stock rims. No problems with rubbing at all. Perellies are the go.

I currently run 335s on new 18x12s on the rear and no rubbing with them either.http://i258.photobucket.com/albums/h...wwheels009.jpg

Yes the KDs are wider than the Sumitomos. They will fill up the rear like the Goodyears.

The KDs (Killer Dry) are great tires - - - just be careful with them in the wet! :pray

Joe, I run the BFG KD's. I love them!

Just keep in mind, they are not the best tire for wet weather. You have to be careful with them.

Thanks Everyone,

For the feedback. Throttle modulation in the wet! Got it.

Here is a pic that shows how much smaller the Sumitomos are compared to Goodyears.

that is a really great pic. my dad has a 95 coupe that he bought with F1's all around and they are showing cords so he was thinking of going with the sumitomo's to save some cash. this is good info. thanks.

Look, the Sumitomos are just like the Goodyears! Only different.

How do they get away with that?

Real simple you pay more you get more rubber. Or more inches if you prefer for your ride. I have a set waiting to go when I burn through my set of summos. Very low treadlife as well.

Yea,its called a 315 by everybody else.I couldnt resist.Anybody ever want to check on a tire size just go on the Tire Racks web site, pull up tires and look up specs.Height, sec width and tread width,it takes some navigation to find what your looking for but it there.

Running the GY GS-D3 (275/40-17ZR - 315/35-17ZR) on "The Beast" and am very happy with them. On the front end of a 5k road trip in June of '07 we ran through rain and snow the same day. No worries with those tires.
