Another question...
With the auto HVAC system there is the light sensor on the dash (center and towards the windshield)>>
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...ightsensor.jpg Is there supposed to be a cover or cap or just as this pic shows??? And just to give a sneak preview... had the car professionally buffed out etc... 9 hours later and WOW...then I added Zymol Concours wax and then detailer... http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...DetailedIV.jpg Michael |
Re: Another question...
Michael, Thats the way the sun load sensor is supposed to look. I just double checked my 90 model to make sure. The manual says "this sensor measures the amount of heat generated from the sun shinning in the vehicle". Your car looks great.

Re: Another question...
I have a '91 and there is a small, black, bulb-shaped cover over the sensor. Not sure if that was a change from '90 MY...

Re: Another question...
Looking at your pic again... the base of mine mine also sits somewhat recessed in the top of the dash pad, where the base of yours looks to be flush with the pad. My guess is that yours is right for the year.

Re: Another question...
Your missing the black, bulb like, cover for the sunload sensor, which does have an effect on how and when the system operates. Mine was missing too. The system now works much better with the cover in place.
Paint looks great by the way... Hans  |
Re: Another question...
The sensor on my 10,000 mile 90 looks just like yours [no cover].

Re: Another question...
my 90 looks like yours as well. my 93 & 95 have the rounded top. i was led to believe there was a change somewhere along the way but from what Hans said...i don't know. i've had the temperature sun load sensor out a couple times before, i was pretty sure the way yours is, is correct...now i'm not so sure?

Re: Another question...
My 90 looks just like yours, no cover. My 91 does have a little black dome on it. I never noticed the difference before.

Re: Another question...
dont mean to hijack but how much did you get chaged by the detailer ?

Re: Another question...
2 cents more.....my 90, built in may of 90, looks just like yours Mike.....but I think that my dash was apart & the dealer lost a few things.....but fwiw, mine has no black bulb cover either.
 Tom |
Re: Another question...
I am pretty sure my 90 does NOT have that...
BUT, my 90 also has Manual A/C :sign10: |
Re: Another question...
Lol what you dont have a thermal loaded hand that does the control switching for you?

Re: Another question...
Mine is flat as well.

Re: Another question...
maybe there was a change somewhere during the run. i thought Michael's car is an earlier one if i remember correctly? my 90 is 1706, pretty much halfway through the run & mine is flat, no cover/dome.

Re: Another question...
My 90 is just like yours, no cover. There is nothing in the NCRS manual about a cover on it, and I didn't lose any point for not having one.

Re: Another question...
My ZR is 90 #566... interesting there is one apparent pattern of having or not... 90's didn' the sometime in MY 91 started having... so looks like we 90 drivers go topless :)

Re: Another question...
This could turned into a real cover up scandal
I can see the the healines now: "Covergate Exposed" "18 year old Corvette cover up scandal" "The 1990 cover gap, worse than ever known" |
Re: Another question...
Mine's #2517, made June of '90. It's possible this is the real reason the '90s were the lightest...
