Thanks for the feedback. Reason I ask is there are two for sale over here for around the $15000 each mark. [Aussie dollar]. Evidently very low miles but complete. Thats about $13000 US.

that price for a used one is awful steep in my opinion . you dont know how long it hasnt run and what condition it is in . if it hasnt had oil put in the cylinders and turned over once a month or so there could be a rust issue . jmho

The LT5 engine is built for endurance while highly spirited driving is encouraged. The engine will last a VERY long time if maintained properly. There is little reason to get a backup engine...unless for extreme modification.

For 16K throw in another couple of thousand and buy the rest of the car.

That would be a good idea, however probably only 10 or 12 ZR1 s in Australia, owning two would be quite an achievement.

Hey bradslt5, you are only four posts away from reaching LT5 status here on the board.

What's the magic number for LT5 status? I worked hard to own an LT5; don't like being labeled an LT4!

thanx for the info . I sure do like this site . as well as loving these cars having 2 cars now as well as buying kellis' burn vic for the motor to be put into the high milage red car(159k). i cant even think of another car new or used i would want to own . but i hav e to get the red car running for my red headed bride or there will be serious results . as it is now she is very sneeky about taking it out with one of her girl friends for a cruize . guess thats her way of getting me to get with it . 2 50+ kids playing with cars hehe life is fun  whats a fella to do ........
