Re: Barrett Jackson Fall 2024

Great collection - I had a feeling someone would be posting it soon! Saw it posted Friday and would give a kidney (or both) to have '95 #380. What a beautiful car and a CLEAR windshield!

This collection was originally from Bud's Chevrolet. I have saved pictures of that collection in his dealership from 2004, including #380, '94 #387, etc., the 40th, the white/white '92, etc. It's neat that they were all purchased by one person. I believe this collection was sold at Mecum in 2010. I remember '95 #380 showing it sold for $60k. Unfortunately Mecum seems to have purged records older than 2012 as I can no longer find that auction.

It is neat to see the collection pop up again. I hope someone keeps it all together. Or someone can loan me garage space and let me buy #380 for cheap!

to close loop, went for with fee, 90 = 49.5, 91 = 46.2, 92 = 71.5, 93 = 115.5, 94 = 71.5, 95 = 82.5, the car with the most miles was 91 @ 134 miles, all were Bloomington gold cert

Re: Barrett Jackson Fall 2024

This was an interesting one. I am surprised the '95 didn't go for more ($75k before fees). I do think the '93 is also surprising at $105k before fees, but it is the last one off the line in '93. That's a record for a '93 and almost a record for all ZR-1s - the only one I'm aware of that was higher was the the yellow/black with 96 miles that went a year-and-a-half ago for $125k. That's why this '95 surprised me.

Congrats to whoever bought them - super jealous!

That makes four 2nd gen ZR-1s that have sold for $100K+ in the last year. Another one, a 1990, sold for $95K.

All had less than 100 original miles.

Still I guess the general trend is up! Let me see if I get these right...?

- '90 black/black - is that the $95k? Was for sale forever at like $119 and finally went down? (Which is why the '90 here was very surprising at half the price)
- '91 Quasar Blue/black - $101k 200mi - 2022? (for sale again now with 900 miles for $75k)
- '93 40th #448 $105k
- '95 yellow/black (I think it was #233?) - 96mi - $125k last year 5/23

Re: Barrett Jackson Fall 2024

I finally watched my recording of this part of the auction yesterday and I was surprised and disappointed by the incredible lack of knowledge about the ZR-1s on the part of the commentators and announcers. One described the engines as being designed by General Motors rather than Lotus, another time said he thought that the targa tops were fixed roofs like the older Z06s, only correcting that by the time '93 rolled across the block, and they really never showed good pictures of the engines. Only once was a hood up and they did not get more than a second or two on the engine. Still strong results overall for cars that all need to go to Marc for thorough revivals if they are to be driven at all. Buy maybe they will, sadly, just be garage art. --Bob
