*BOUGHT* WTB: BCM for 1990 ZR-1
I am trying to get my ZR1 to crank over, I have literally changed every single thing including sensors and ECM. The only thing left is the BCM. My VATS us 15. Please tell me someone has some info on where to buy or any other options. This car only has 30k miles in it. I take manifold was pulled and vacuum lines checked. Installed new wires and coil packs. I?m getting desperate.

Re: Wanted BCM 1990 Zr1
Does it crank ?
Check the relays under the dash. Under the steering column. It will let you think that you have a vats problem, but it?s a bad relay. |
Re: Wanted BCM 1990 Zr1
It doesn?t even crank. Before I did anything the check engine light wasn?t coming on, then the digital dash started flashing ?system? (I think that?s what it was flashing) then the gauges went out, the car started running HORRIBLE, climate control started flashing every button I hit, and the information system went bonkers and illuminated everything BUT check engine.
ODDLY the radio and antenna still work. Ohh and the parking and fog lights wouldn?t shut off but dimmed to like 15%. |
Re: Wanted BCM 1990 Zr1
I do not have any thing to help, except you should get the FSM for your car
ZR-1. Also check solutions in the zr-1 net registry forums. John |

Well I have a 1990 bcm think the vats is #10. Car had under 45k miles

Re: Wanted BCM 1990 Zr1
Have the battery checked/load tested, check the fuseable link wires next to the battery.

Re: Wanted BCM 1990 Zr1
Check the purple wire to the starter and see if it gets power when you turn over the key

Like tpr60 said, check battery and terminals.
Have the battery load tested. Check you?re ground wire to chassis and engine. |
Re: Wanted BCM 1990 Zr1
I can reprogram any BCM/CCM to make it correct

Re: Wanted BCM 1990 Zr1
I appreciate everyone?s response. It is the original BCM that was the issue as it had a fried circuit
It only took me like $3k to narrow it down. ALOT of new sensors, ecm, vacuum system, coils, plugs, wires, battery, battery terminals, had the whole dash off to check the wires and connections. Drove me crazy. I am taking advantage of Jeff and his programming skills to just reprogram a used one. To my understanding they don?t even make the DELCO 60904 circuit anymore. For others that might think they have this problem I?ll explain my experience. The first sign months ago was the car was really rough once started. Went away after it warmed up. Next interior lights would either stay on all the time or stay off, this also happened with the warning chime, fog lights, and parking lights. A month or so later the check engine light came on and it would not go into secondary injectors. Then my check engine light just shut off and wouldn?t come on again- yes I checked the bulb. Once this happened I got communication errors and system flashing on my Speedo. Then the gauges just completely stopped working. They wouldn?t even light up anymore or swing. Lastly, it stopped giving me fuel pressure. Just remember to the newbies that are DIY, anything you do to your car, disconnect the battery. These cars a very sensitive to that. For the record this happens to a 1990 ZR1 with only 30k miles. This car has been babied since it was purchased and has always been in a climate controlled garage. So I guess it just the luck of the draw. |
