New digs...
Yesterday we closed on a new (to us) home in south central Missouri. Much as I hated moving away from the core of the FBI gang - I have become a member "at large", so to speak!
The closest town of note is Ava, MO, located SE of Springfield, MO about an hour, or about an hour NW of Branson MO. The house sits on State HWY N, located (I'm told) one one of the favorite Corvette club scenic twisties routs. So, Ami and I had to wring part of it out to see, and OH - YEAH!! Not as twisty as "The Dragon", but every bit and maybe then some on some of the other Appalachian Mountain Runs! Gonna have a ball just driving to the grocery store!! (Think OZARKS) The move (DIY) will occur in chapters, the main one this week, but hopefully all the trips will be complete by June 1 "God willing and the creek don't rise!" |
Re: New digs...
Congratulations and welcome to Missouri.

Re: New digs...
Welcome to the area. I lived in Springfield for a few years, then Carthage MO and now down just north of the Tulsa area. The Ozarks have some great roads for cruising. Southeast OK is pretty nice as well. Try the Talimena Drive this fall (Talihina OK to Mena AR).

Re: New digs...
Awesome place! We go to Branson almost every year and stay a week on Table rock lake. The mountain roads are defiantly a blast to drive!
You also now have a brand new track being built not too far from you! |
Re: New digs...
Congratulations on your new home.
Enjoy it ... and the rides around it  |
Re: New digs...
I used to manage a Mechanical Engineering group (remotely) at DT Engineering in Lebanon, Mo. Not too far from you. Travelled down there dozens of times and almost moved there.
Great country. Best of Luck. |

Yeah, some snow - but they say it melts quick. Nobody around me has a snow blower. So, I'm giving mine to my son that just moved to Denver area!
Speaking of CORVETTES, just a week ago there came such a noise as a local Corvette club streamed by my front door doing a spirited loop or two in the Mark Twain N'tl Forest. Oh...I think we're gonna like it here!! (And we're "only" just over 6 hours away. So, chances are we'll 'drop in' from time to time! We won't loose touch with our FBI friends (so CC me on the Pizza nite dates, pls!) The kind of roads in the neighborhood... Paul. |
Re: New digs...
So are you moved in now?
