Cam Sensors for sale.

Hi,

These are not mine and I have no vested interest. I just know they are extremely difficult to source. The seller has 3 left. Not cheap at $220, but...
It is FREE shipping!

https://ebay.us/1azilJ

Hopefully it will clear someone's Code 31 for 'Service Engine Soon'.

Regards,
John :usa:

$220 for a cam sensor is beyond rediculous. That is virtually a universal part and there are substitutes available.

Hey guys, how are y'all. I am looking to replace my cam sensor and if anyone knows of a supplier, other than the $220 one, please let me know. Or one that fits another application.
Thanx

Mr Karl, many of us here would like to know the part number of the substitute you have in mind and it?s modification as necessary. If your research has an answer for this NLA part the ZR-1 community worldwide is listening.

Interesting, as Young1 was the person in that thread who was to do further testing on that part.

220$ for this part is truly an insulting price. A simple search on Google shows me parts for already 30$, so how on Earth does this person want to sell it for so much?

And here's a guy in Poland asking $249 for them.

Yes I am well versed on the cam sensor dilema. I was hoping that Karl may have some insight that others including myself have not discovered. When these sensors were available at auto parts stores up to maybe 5 years ago they were costing $220.00. I am yet using a prototype built by a Z brother in VA with way more skill than myself. I would like to have a spare.

Not sure what the issue is. I answered a question and gave an alternative.

Besides my original response was for the person who posted this thread. If you are using the cam sensor alternative I mentioned that's great!

Not everyone knows of their options.

I did some poking around online, and certainly couldn?t find replacement ones. Was this prototype you have supposed to,lead to some kind of a production run?

Re: Cam Sensors for sale.

Members here had hoped it would materialize into a production run but it was not realized. I had spoken to Jerry on this subject but the reasons were undisclosed. Therefore lies my inquisition to Karl if he has any alternatives. I am not an electrical engineer and would not attempt anything that could harm the unobtainable ECU and ignition module. Just a guy trying the keep the legends alive.

Re: Cam Sensors for sale.

I found the ebay site that had the cam sensors. They had one left, so guess what? I bought it. Not knowing of any alternatives at the time, I had to. I installed it and got the same results as with my original. Money well spent! I followed the steps in the 1991 "Service Manual" for testing. The only thing I couldn't do, yet anyways, is to test it on an "O" scope for the square wave readings. Maybe, just maybe, it's the ECM. Whatever it is, I just wanna find it.
To be continued
