Familiar sound. I can’t do that in NC because there are too many deer out here!

I so wish there was an event like that in the US.

I loved your first 2 high speed run videos. Whenever its pouring rain and can't go for a drive yet get the ZR1 bug, I pull up those videos and just watch and listen to the beast rev. I'm glad this one shows speed. 290 kph is 180mph. That road looks so skinny, do you have to tilt the steering wheel up to make room for your massive balls?

Wow! Where do I begin? Your Z sounds incredible.... ran like a beast! I also concur with Weeberone about your steering wheel. I’ve run the Texas mile, but it’s wide open area on both sides of the asphalt.

Thanks for sharing!!!!

290kmh = 180mph. guess life DOES begin at 180!

There IS!

Google WANNAGOFAST and get a schedule of the where and when their next event will be - usually on an airport runway, offering 1/2 and sometimes a full mile of WOT fun!

Yeah, I know all about WGF, been doing them since they started in TX. I've also done a number of standing mile events. Neither is like what he's doing, which is a "flying" 1/2 Mile if I remember correctly, which is basically 2-3 miles of distance at full throttle, with another mile or so of shutdown. Given I hit 176MPH in the mile last fall, I'd like to think I could break 200 in a flying event. Too bad we'll never see one in the US.

Re: Watch "C4 ZR-1 Corvette High Speed Run 10 February 2019" on YouTube

I recall Curtis Ward breaking 200 mph with his 91 ZR-1 back in the early 2000’s during the Big Bend Open Road Race.... for which he was he was ejected from the race for way exceeding his tech speed. Curtis’ stated intent was only to break 200mph.

Hi thanks for the comments we are only aloud to use a class 2 road that has light use we are lucky to have Goudies Rd to race on its 6kms long we have a 2.5km run up and 1/4 mile timed section 2.5km run down which I use to get more speed yes the rd is narrow and a little bumpy just got to make the most of what is available
Had a lot of people commenting on the car all day they loved the sound of it very few people new what a ZR-1 was or new about the LT5 so was busy with that as well
Was the second fastest car there not bad for a 30 year old car build date on my car 10-89

Hi Hans I have made my injector boses smaller have up loaded a photo I have a aluminum flywheel and a Haibeck chip done cam timing specs to later models spec's that's it.
Goudies Rd where we race is at 1794' so we lose a bit of performance from the altitude and it was a hot day

Very nice Glen. Not sure if you noticed but your car and the high speed run video are now featured in the home page of the registry. Congrats. After seeing that run I think I will call you “BOSS” for now on. “Balls of solid steel”....

I've driven that fast in my Z at standing mile events (and faster in my previous C6), but there was plenty of runoff on either side. Doing that on a dinky little two lane takes some seriously big ones.

Outstanding! Just can't clone the sound of a DOHC V8 wailing at 7,000 rpm..where do you have your shift light set at? 6500?

Hi Guys I think if you were all given a chance most of you would have a go remember you only go as fast as you comfortable with. You are not supposed to go over 120mph on your first run (of course I forgot my first time there in all the excitement)

Nice, 1.5 miles at full throttle alone would be a lot of fun. I was planning at some point on doing the Mojave Monster here in the US, which is a standing 1.5 mile, but they shut it down last year I believe. Here in the US the focus seems to be on standing 1/2 mile (quite a few) and a few standing Mile events.

I'm sure that rear diffuser helps...I'm guessing our rear bumpers catch a lot of air at high speeds.....That diffuser helps deflect all that air....
