Agreed Doug. There are not many places that are competitive with auctions for commanding the lowest possible price for a ZR-1, but Craigslist would certainly be a top contender. C-4 ZR-1's have a proven history of lackluster prices using those methods. At least with auctions you have the reputation of the house to try to attract interested bidders to boost the price. Craigslist? Great place to sell your old lawnmower, but a 90's supercar? One would guess the "free" nature is the attraction, but it comes at a stiff cost. The car itself certainly looks nice enough for 16.5. Strange, no mention of maintenance performed. But when you compare it to some of the 90's on the other forum like the one for 10k with 100k plus miles, this is quite a bit nicer, with the added cost easily saved in reconditioning expense. Does anyone know if NH permits out of state ownership and registration? I know many of my transporters have trailers registered in either NH or maybe it's Vermont due to the attractive fees? Marty |

Glad I didn't start the usual S-storm when I make that remark...
Marty: Used to see a lot of cars in CT with VT plates, usually people that have a VT address at a ski condo or something. There was some kind of a tax break, but the Taxman in CT closed that loophole and ya don't see it much anymore. |

Correct....It only matters if you live in NH and register the car in NH, no tax...
A few years back a friend of mine purchased a car from a dealer in Fla.he lived in NY at the time... The dealer actually stamped the total price of the car on the title... When he went to DMV in NY to register he put a sale price of more than 50 % less than the actual price..... The person at the counter didn't even bother looking at the sale price on the title... Long story short, he saved himself 825 dollars in taxes.....His attitude was, if they see the sale price on the title he would have just paid the full amount for a $20,000 sale.. Just something to remember for the people that do register in NY and buy out of state from a dealer.......Maybe the person at the counter overlooked it....I would probably do the same thing.....I pay enuff taxes... |

The CT DMV closed that loophole years ago. They go by the "book" (whatever that is?) on every transfer now... |

I think he was from Maine but haven’t seen him post here in a long time. I hope you’re doing well. To anyone who’s interested, this car looked very well taken care of when I saw it and I’m sure it still is. Bill’s good people. Mike. |
