Re: Dash/Interior Question
Well I like 91-93 dash and interior in both colors! The 94 up dash lost most the details and looks cheaper. just my opinion....

Re: Dash/Interior Question
Guys.. Focus on the colors only..
Not the dash design or seats.. just the grey vs black trim and white vs yellow lettering ONLY ;) What if you had a 92-93 black trim with white lettering? |
Re: Dash/Interior Question
How about "None of the Above"
They all look they escaped from a Vega. While I like the car immensely, some of the design choices are not befitting the "King of the Hill". Some of the designers should visit the pit of misery. Take a look at C-6 and C-7 dashes and you will see some REAL improvement. I understand technology certainly advanced since 90-95, but even back then other cars had quite good designs that were easily seen day or night, and still looked aesthetically pleasing. However, I didn't buy the car for the interior design and finish. Marty |
Re: Dash/Interior Question
Marty I agree, the interior sucks.. poor fit and finish, should never have made it into the corvette..
But alas, we have to deal with it. I am trying to decide is I want to change it up and do all black with white, my son says stick with the yellow lettering. I have a chance to get most the pieces for a conversion for a reasonable cost, debating if I should snag them or not |
Re: Dash/Interior Question
White letters look far less "garish" than the yellow.
Yellow clashes with everything except yellow or black. Go for it! Marty |

AND the worst (even embarrassing!?) is the stuttering sweep of the cove. Indescribably...awful. (As you said, look at the C7's cove to see how it should have looked!) |
Re: Dash/Interior Question
My preference always been black w/ white lettering.
It turns out 94-96 corvettes weren't the only cars with black dulso (rubbery) finish. Ferraries of similar time frame used the same. Evidently a few Ferrari owners ordered a brand new interior parts (at Ferrari price) only to find new parts with dulso finish half melt and sticking to fingers. http://www.stickyrxrs.com/ |
Re: Dash/Interior Question
I prefer the yellow lettering......I'm sure the white is easier to see in the day-time, but at night I love the glow of that Amber color of my 91.

I was able to get the Z out this weekend and paid close attention to the readability of my 90's gray with yellow lettering. I, personally, like it. |
Re: Dash/Interior Question
Hi all, bit un-related to the topic. How does the 94 + dash compare to the early years in terms of quality? Does it actually feel cheaper? I have only seen my 1990 here in Australia. I would have thought the 94 + would have made improvements with joins and be nicer finish. Anyway keen to see everyones thoughts.

Re: Dash/Interior Question
I think the 94-96 style lends itself to be easier to 'upgrade'. meaning I think covering the 94-96 dash in leather or nicer material would be less complicated to do vs the 90-93
I have been modding radio and console bezels since I use the 94 driver side console side, I feel that fit and finish is better, but retained the 'wall' of the passenger side. I had wanted to get a 94 dash and create glove box were the pass air bag is for my 90 (started with my 89) So the black with white lettering might happen some day. I am 3 pieces short of a full conversion set still thinking about it.. |
