Hello everyone. Taking a few minutes to introduce myself. I’m a life long Corvette fan, always been into horsepower and technology. While I’m extremely versed on the late model corvette’s (ZO6 and ZR1), I’m looking forward to learning as much about my early ZR-1 as I possibly can and spending time with fellow, like minded enthusiast.
I just purchased 1994 ZR-1 #0084 Red.
I live in the Metro Detroit area.

That is where I purchased the car from. I’m flying in next Saturday and driving back to Detroit..:)

You looking to keep it stock. Or do u want to see what the potential of an LT5 is?
Might be an appropriate timing if GM is indeed coming up w a successor to KOTH.

Honestly, with the capability of the LS & the new LT platform, I’m not going to try and reinvent the wheel and push my wants on such a work of art. (LT5).
I’m going to leave the car bone stock and maybe pick up a late model ZR1 in about two years when they are much more affordable..

You’ll miss out on what the LT5 could have been. Even McLellan had his 95 modded.

Welcome!

As said above, there are mods that provide significant improvement and are not even visible, i.e porting, polishing.
There are others that are quite easily reversible, such as exhaust, that just make the car so much more fun.
Nothing wrong with bone stock, except that an LT-1 of the same vintage sounds deeper and better.
While many don't believe that any C-4 is special, those of us who have driven a ZR-1 know the real truth.

Better get a detector for the trip. The car cruises nicely at 2000 RPM’s but that around 92 MPH. I actually got 23 MPG at that speed. Enjoy your trip!!

Well, I made the trip to NC to pick up the Z. The seller was extremely gracious and was very helpful with lining me up on the cars quirks and tricks. He was replacing the Z with a brand new Corvette Grand Sport. (A big mistake in my view, but I’m extremely biased as I am completely in love with the C4 Z). I took my father with me to share the experience, in fact I had him drive the car back home to Detroit. (14hrs straight). The car ran and drove flawlessly as expected. She’s already been washed and waxed and is waiting for new plates before I drive her for the first time!

We’ll fire up that detector again. You are driving a “Arrest Me Red Corvette!” Many years of driving, but the Z is a cop magnet! Tickets are more expensive at that speed[emoji38][emoji23][emoji16]

I’m going to try and make it up to the Lingenfelter event this Sat morning (weather permitting). Not sure who all goes up there?
