Great day @ WAZOO....10/12/16
Another great day in WAZOO Land at Jim's (QB93Z)garage...
Arrived there early and Bob's Vette was already on the lift. An all day affair as Bob was concerned with a noise coming from the clutch location and only noticeable when completely warm. Trans removal was in order and found to be a bolt that became loose and backed out of its location, thus causing the noise. Also was getting new u-joints, as this would be a good time to get that job accomplished. Bob was a happy guy, especially knowing what was causing the noise when shifting. Professor Yun (secondchance)took me to school with his "patent" plenum removal. Done in no time, on his 94 to replace the injectors. Asked alot of questions as I tried to assist the best way possible. Picked up alot of good tips.... Had many ZR-1 guys stop by WAZOO Land today, met some new people and saw some of the regulars. Once again, would like to thank Jim and Lyndi for their hospitality, always a fun time!!! There a number of pics to be posted, I will try to list Forum names with their names, some I don't know. So feel free to add your Forum name, and I will edit to correct. Thanks, hope everyone enjoys the pics.... http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...112_141105.jpg Left to Right..... Jim (QB93Z), George (George Maz), Tom (Me) (Roadster), Charlie (dredgeguy), Nelson (nelson007), Bob (zmechanism), "Another" Bob, Al, Phil (Jagdpanzer), and Yun, (secondchaance).....not shown Jim & his wife (JFFerner) the garage... http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...112_083829.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...112_083756.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...112_105757.jpg http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...112_105348.jpg |

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Hope to join you at a future event! Ever considered doing a dyno day? We did one in the Philly area many years ago and had a blast!

It was a great day indeed. Bob's 1993 Polo Green LT1 was making a strange noise from the clutch when the car was at operating temperature and the clutch was fully depressed. With the clutch partially depressed (~75%) the clutch worked properly and the transmission could be shifted.
This C4 Corvette has 210,000 miles on it and runs well. All of the clutch and associated components (including the pivot stud) were replaced about 50,000 miles ago. After disassembly, we found that the noise was coming from the clutch fork "rubbing" against the inside rim of the clutch plate. The clutch fork was making contact with the clutch because the pivot stud had slightly backed out of its mounting hole. This is an LT1 car so the bell housing looks a little different than our LT5. Here is the disassembled fork and pivot stud: http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/DSC_0162.jpg Here is the slight mark where the rubbing occurred: http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/DSC_0165.jpg Here is the pivot stud: http://i407.photobucket.com/albums/p...1/DSC_0168.jpg Many thanks to all of the WAZOO guys who helped make this repair, it was definitely a group effort. Special thanks to Phil for his expertise and assistance. Jim |

I know Dempsey has had one in the past, but that is further for me, and you. I know there is JD's on Welsh Rd., Huntingdon Valley PA (Montco) that did(does) dyno's. Had my '04 GTO done there a long time ago. That may be a possibility for the owners in the Metro Philly area. |
