One of our finest has passed away
Hi all
Not many of the membership got to know George Braml (LT5-1935) but the few that did, will never forget him..... George was a first class car guy with a lovely wife and 2 awesome kids. I was fortunate to know him and watch him always offer support / expertise with NO expectation of any reciprocation Jim Voter and I met him @ a Friday night cruise in 2008 George asked me to open my hood so he could measure the size of the motor and see if he could install an LT-5 in his 35 Chevy Both Jim and myself said, what???? Really???? We talked George into driving a ZR-1 and not long after George purchased a black 1990 ZR-1. He spared no expense on making that 1990 one of the best I've ever seen. Paintwork Brakes Exhaust. You name it, George would make it perfect George helped any Z brother with parts / tooling / machining detail work, you name it George would offer to help Anyone interested in coming to the wake, it will be this Friday. 3 to 5 pm (near perry hall, md). Address and specific info tomorrow We will meet up right after for drinks / dinner Regards David |

Re: One of our finest has passed away
I have no words, I was stunned when I got the call last night from his wife. George was a true friend who would do anything for anyone, car enthusiast or not. He was a true craftsman with metal work and could do anything. My heart goes out to his wife Elizabeth and his children.

Re: One of our finest has passed away
That's horrible news. I've met George and his wife a few times since I found the WAZOO group, and he always struck me as a great guy.
I'm a few thousand miles away, or I'd be at the wake. |

Re: One of our finest has passed away
All,
We’ve recently suffered the loss of three of our dear ZR-1 Net Registry members since October. With the passing of Phil DeJohn, we are grateful for the efforts of Dave “Mom” Bright to ensure Phil was remembered with a ZR-1 brick at the National Corvette Museum. With the passing of Tony Watson and George Braml within the last few weeks, the ZR-1 Net Registry will ensure that both members are appropriately remembered on behalf of the ZR-1 Net Registry family. As such, we have created a venue for members to contribute for each of our departed. We have set up our web store to accept donations in increments of $5 in order for us to reach our goal of $150 for each ZR-1 memorial brick. Additionally, we’ve provided a link to both Tony and George’s obituary, which allows members to view the requests of the family and donate as they see fit. The link to the “In Memoriam” section of our web store is: http://www.zr1netregistry.com/Market...6/Default.aspx We as a community are very saddened by such a great loss, and very much appreciate your donation in support of these great friends and ZR-1 enthusiasts. With heavy heart, Mark |
Re: One of our finest has passed away
George was as fine a guy as you could ever hope to meet. A generous person always willing to share his time and talents with the brotherhood. My sympathies go out his wife Elizabeth and their two children. I will truly miss him.
