ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
Anyone watch mecum today? Looks like the z's are getting beat up - White 91 with under 16k miles sold for $14,500, and a black 91 with 18,500 miles was only bid up to $13.5k. Wow.

Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
Mine's getting close to turning over 40k miles. Screw it, I'm gonna start daily driving it and not even worrying about the road film, rain, and all of that.
A few months ago I thought that if I could get $18-$19k for it, that I might let it go...maybe I would sell both vettes and get a c6-Z06. For $14k, I'll just turn this into my outside car and drive it in the rain...it's still fun to drive! |
Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
If each of us stepped up and bought up a couple of cars we could run the prices up/now where to store them/a wrecked zr1 sold on flea bay the other day for 11600/go figure

Its like the car is becoming a secret again. The last generation of ZR-1s also pushed values down a bit. |
Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
I was on here when I first acquired this ZR1 black on Black with original 57 miles on it, Flyin Ryan knew the whole history, unfortunately a lot of documentation was lost, but it still has a veryified history. Have the build sheet, books, etc. I was thinking of 2015 Barrett AA but with Ron Pratt selling his whole collection, I'm not sure. What do you guys think? Trying to get north of 40

Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
You ever look at NADA? Current values are: Low Retail $13,725; Avg $21,875 and High Retail $33,250. These are for a 1990.
So, where do they come up with these numbers, if not from the market? Auctions are quirky. I would not let my 90 with 79k on the od go for less than $20K with all the extras. It has been driven and well taken care of. Everything is working. |
Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
Just drive the damn thing and have fun. All of this strongly suggests you mod the car to your liking and enjoy. Stock, the ZR is a great car. Add another
120-150rwhp to it, and its just a blast while being competitive with 95% of the new stuff for 1/3 of the cost. Not to mention you don't see one every day. |

Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
I understand what the market is. I spent 30 years appraising real estate here in Southern Nevada. I did not mean that NADA set the market, I ment that they get their numbers from the market. In real estate, we look at "arms length" transactions. ie: willing seller, knowledgable buyer, motivation, exposure to the market for a reasonable period of time, etc etc.
There also seems to be more supply than demand. |

Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
Saw that 91 with 18k miles yesterday at the auction, nice car, thought it didn't sell at $18,500 because of a higher reserve. I've got a red/red 64k miles 90 I want $20k for with all the usual things already fixed, an all I get is low ball offers. Go figure??

Re: ZR-1's at Mecum Monterey
From what I read, all C4 prices are depressed due to lack of parts, just drive em with permagrin & ENJOY, mine at 76K still runs GREAT but not worth much except enjoyment
