Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Hi Darby, I'm game to get together and meet my ZR-1 brethren. Just moved to Evergreen, CO 2 months ago from Wazoo land. Any day but the 4th works for me.

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I was already planning on attending the Lafayette Cars and Coffee so how about we show the Porsche boys some ZR-1 muscle! This can be a pretty good showing of some awesome cars. There is a Starbucks in Broomfield by the King Soopers off of 287. We could meet there and caravan in as a group?
Darby 720-641-4694 Date: Saturday July 5, 2014 Time: 7:30 am - 10:30 am (GMT-07.00) Mountain Time (US & Canada) Location: The parking lot at the southwest corner of the intersection at 95th and Arapahoe in Lafayette, Colorado. (In front of Barlow's Premium Cigars & Pipe, 2770 Arapahoe Road, Lafayette, CO.) |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Darby, What time do you want to meet at King Soopers/Starbucks?
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Is this the address for the location we are meeting at to caravan in:
Starbucks 15051 E 104th Ave Commerce City, CO 80022 What do you say to meeting at 7:30am. I am ab out 50 minutes away in the foothills. |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
This is it.
1170 U.S. 287, Broomfield, CO I have been to this Cars and Coffee a few times before. It can get packed pretty fast and parking can be an issue. I would like us all to park together. I’m not sure how it will be on a holiday weekend so I would suggest an early departure. I’m an early riser and only about 20 minutes away from the Starbucks. What works for the rest of you? How about 7:30 at Starbucks? The C & C is 5 minutes from there. |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
7:30 is ok with me but Bert is in Evergreen and he might have to leave the day before.:)
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Enginerd101... are you going to make it? Be great to have 4 ZR-1 s pulling in at the same time. That should bring us some attention. Just hope its not black and grey. It looks like we got two of those already....JK ... But really it would be good to meet up.
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Bert is probably still on east coast time. He'll be up before us all
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I'll just sleep in my Zzzz. I'll be there at 7:30.
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
My plans for today changed, and unfortunately, I won't be able to make it tomorrow. I hope we can work out another z cruise before the end of summer. Have fun and take lots of pictures! Happy 4th!

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Hey 4-Cam and SteelblueZr1 it was good to meet you and was a fun time at cars and coffee in Lafayette. 3 Beautiful ZR1's representing the Net Registry. Sorry Engineered101 couldn't make it but maybe another time.
4-cam, you were right, there were some really exotic cars representing several nationalities including a car I never heard of known as a Bitter. Probably 1 of 1 in America. Thanks for the invite 4-cam we had a good time. |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Hi Darby and Frank, what a great morning at Lafayette Cars and Coffee. Great to finally meet you both. Great to see so many people checking out our ZR-1's. First Saturday in August we should meet up at Golden's Cruise night. Went tonight and had great time.

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Great pics Bert. It was great meeting you and Frank. We will definitely have to meet up again. We certainly got more attention than I have in the past with three ZR-1's .
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Saw this post too late. Was planning on bringing the Z to Cars and Coffee this past weekend but plans changed. Hopefully there will be another meet.
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I suspect so... I am trying to get a group together to attend the Golden Cruise-in on the First Saturday night of August from 5pm on. I went last Saturday and there had to have been 500 cars cruising the main strip with an audience who was very enthusiastic. What a great vibe.
I also hope to arrange a ZR-1 Cruise to Echo Lake at the foot of Mt. Evans for some great photo ops. Even better is the potential to drive up to Summit Lake just above that. Here are some pics I took hiking there this weekend. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-_..._122023104.jpg https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-t...DR-EFFECTS.jpg I saw a contingent of Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 club members there taking photos and hiking. |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I have been to many of the Golden Cruises also and they are a lot of fun. Not much actual cruising going on because there are so many cars. I'm an empty nester now so I have lots of time. It woukd be great to meet up again.

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Hog, that pushrod car was parked there when we arrived and there was hardly any places to park due to too many cars. When the herd thinned out we got our Z's together for the pic. The driver of that pushrod car was a lady with her young daughter.

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Anybody planning on going to cars and coffee again this weekend?

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I am not planning on going to Cars and Coffee , but I hope some fellow Denver area ZR-1 owners will join me a the Golden Super Cruise-in this Saturday (8/2) evening at 5pm. I will try to park my Steel Blue Z in front of or near - Goozell Yogurt & Coffee - at 1200 Washington Ave Golden CO 80401.
This is the epicenter of Golden and the cruise. Call me at 410-530-0630 to meet up. If you want to park in downtown, you may want to stake out your spot earlier than 5pm. Cruise Map and information: http://www.goldensupercruise.com/area_maps_1.htm 5 to 9 PM on South Golden Road in Golden CO First Saturday each month May thru October |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I'll be at Golden Super Cruise too. Don't normally go down that far, might cruise down to see if I can find you. I normally park down by Sonic at Ulysses and South Golden Road.
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Marty and I will try to make it around 5PM or so.
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I'm going to try and make the cruise also.

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Hey Guys,
I live in Colorado Springs. Always wanted a C4 ZR-1 and I finally found a 1990 C4 ZR-1. I flew to it in Redlands CA at a place called Play Toys. 17,335 original miles, CARFAX and Window Sticker. Red on Red. Paid for it and flew back. It ships in a enclosed transporter Friday or Saturday and arrived either Monday or Tuesday. Original tires so that is the first thing I'll do is put tires on it. I ran it up to 90 on the test drive and thought about the original tires and backed off. I've been doing a lot of reading on it, but still have loads of questions. It doesn't have the pizza box and books. Anyone have any ideas where I can find/buy one for a 1990 ZR-1? Does anyone have any idea how many ZR-1s are in CO? Anyone know how I can find out how many 1990 Red on Red ZR-1s were produced? I told you I had questionl! God Bless, rick |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Welcome to the forum rmendoza. Csavaglio down in AZ had a 1990 Service manual for sale on here awhile back. Maybe you could contact him to see if its still available. I don't know about the pizza box availability as they are somewhat rarer. According to the info in the forum there are at least 15 ZR1's here in Colorado. I know of 5 personally and 1 of those was for sale in Castle Rock. I think Dynomite can possibly answer how many red on red there were as he is cornering the market on the red ones. :)

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Hey Darby, we saw ya about 5PM at the Golden Cruise as you were headed up Washington toward 19th street. We were in front of the yogurt shop on 12th but didn't see Bert or Colorado ZR1. We left 12th about 5:10 pm to head up to the Sonic but there were way too many (hundreds) cars to get in. Some really nice iron and plastic at the cruise today.
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Bert is here parked 1\2 block up from yogurt shop hood up in Steel Blue Z. Call me if you all want to meet up. Parked at Washington at 13th 8pm. 410-530-0639.

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Yep,
I made two passes and didnt see any body. . Very crowded and I was really hungry so I took off.. I think you need to have your car parked by 3pm to get a spot. We will have to do a better job of planning next time. Or ill just ride my bike there may be a better idea. |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
You are right about the crowds. We had to park out back (behind the old Foss drug which is now a bicycle shop) between 12th and 13th streets as the main street was full. Even then there was only a couple of spots left at 4:30 PM. I about wore out the clutch trying to get out to Old Golden road when we left.
|
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
A better option is to come later, say 6:30pm, and I had no trouble parking in downtown Golden. 1st parked just off main strip and moved car a few minutes later when a spot opened in front of yogurt store. Went to Sonic afterwards for chocolate jalepeno milk shake... What a selection of cars there were under fluorescent lights.

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Hey guys, the C & C deal is less than a mile from my house. Want to meet again September 6th ?
Also, if anyone is looking to join a Corvette club, we are member of TORCA and meet in Longmont. If nothing else, we hold autocrosses and go on mystery meals, all are invited. Barry |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
I might be moving back to CO Springs in the next month or so......I'd be up for a meetup once I'm up there. It'd be pretty cool to see 2 steel blues in the same spot.....

Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
My name is Rick Mendoza. I have '90 ZR-1 #0827 with 18,080 miles on it and live in Colorado Springs. I belong to the Colorado Springs Corvette Club and we have one other member that has the Anniversary '93 ZR-1 that he doesn't drive it much. Of course he has 4 other vettes, a viper etc.
I got mine a month ago and drove to Grand Lake for a Corvette show, 1st Place C4 and did a local show and got 1st Place 1990s all makes and models. If you move to Colo Springs be sure and let me know. We're off to the National Corvette Caravan in the early am. Not taking the ZR-1, rather the '03 C5. God Bless rick |
Re: Denver ZR-1 Meeting
Im planning on attending the Cars and Coffee if anyone else is interested.
