1991 Zs

Daniel and I finally got the cars out for a few pics after finishing coilover installs, and 18" CCW Classics on mine. Pics taken with my Nikon DSLR but haven't touched up pics yet.

OMG those CCW's look amazing on your steel blue! I am waiting to buy these exact wheels from a fellow ZR-1 owner in MD, who I met at Carlisle. Now that i see them on another steel blue, I am totally sold on this purchase... My wife saw them on a Black Z at Carlisle and said to my surprise, "Now those wheels I would let you buy for your Z." She does have good taste, and so do you - Congrats! What tyres and sizes are your running?

Thanks Bert,

I love the CCW Classics on the car, they are the track version. I got them from a fellow ZR-1 owner in Seattle, so the offsets were perfect. They are 18x11 front and 18x12 rear with Toyo RA1 305/35ZR18 front and Toyo RA1 335/30ZR18 rear. Our cars look perfect with 335s on the rear and the 11" fronts look sick. In the future I will probably go with 10" fronts for drivability, the wide fronts and larger sway bar cut the turning down a good bit.

Mmmmm, nice. I don't know why these cars aren't more popular in the looks department with the masses. Gorgeous cars, but look at who I'm talking to... those who know what's up.

The Z is Pontiac Bright White if you park the car next to a Artic White car it's a BIG difference :icon_thum The original donor Z started off life as a Black on Black car. Nothing really left of that car except interior and body parts.

Thank you! I was mixed at first about putting the splash back on the Z but now would not have it any other way.

Thanks for the invite fellas. I don't what I'll be doing around that time; just finished up my BS for microbiology, looking for work, and might not even be living in the south east for a while by the looks of it. If if works out though, I'll be sure to be there.

Damn every time I come back to these pictures guys, they make me love these cars more and more. They always say to appreciate something, you have to see it in person, and these cars are the definition of that for me. But, you guys did a great job taking pictures. They really show off the lines of these cars better than any other pictures I've seen.

And man, whom ever designed these cars knew what "just right" and "just enough" meant. He, she, they new exactly what proportions made a car look like what the British call "the business." He made a nice elegant shape and stopped. He didn't unnecessarily keep going and add wings and scoops and slots and cuts and this hump and that shape. He was on a good day, drew it out, and said "yep, that's just right. That's what it needs to be." The cars shape carries it's character, not a bunch of excess crap placed on it. I mean just look at them. They look like they could go 300mph and be happy about it. They're low, flat, lean, and mean. They just have a certain character about them. They have that old school jet fighter swagger about them. Like an f-14, or maybe the old hustlers that some have nicknamed c4s "bombers" after. They just say "I'm fast as hell and I know I'm fast as hell."
