Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
I am looking for a discontinued GM part number 10052168. It is a small retainer clip (bracket) for the fuel lines on a 1994 ZR-1 Corvette. The part sits just above the blower motor control module just forward of the firewall on the passenger side. It appears to be unique for the ZR-1 model as I have not seen it on the 1994 Corvette with the LT1 engine.
Thanks, Dale Zimmerman 1994 Black Rose ZR-1 Lincoln, Nebraska |
Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
ask on this thread. I bet it's the same part on a 90.

Can you take a picture of what you need? Sent you a link to Kurt's site. He has the part # David |
Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
It's the same black plastic part used on the fuel lines underneath the car in two places.

Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
David,
There is not much left of the clip on my car. Not sure a picture would do any good. Who knows how long the clip has been broken. However, it is there for a reason. When the fuel lines are not retained by this clip, they are free to vibrate. One of them actually rubbed through the insulation on the lead wire to the blower motor. That in turn blew a fuse. I have a temporary fix that uses two black zip ties to hold the fuel lines in place, but would like to find the correct clip if anyone has one? Thanks, Dale |
Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
Thanks for the information, Dynomite. Exactly what I need!!
Carter, if you are out there, what is the status on making this Fuel Line Bracket out of Billet Aluminum? Thanks, Dale Zimmerman |
Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
Dale,
I sent you an email before seeing your distress message. I'll be making the fuel line block starting tomorrow. I had to catch-up on earlier commitment jobs and had an unscheduled downtime on the CNC. Dynomite and Fully Vetted provided me with the samples I needed to get my specs. Sorry you had an issue with the blown fuse. Take care, Carter PS: I have a list started of who wanted/needed the item just need to find it. If you remember contacting me about needing one please speak up here and I'll for sure have you down for one. No price yet but it's not gonna break the bank and shipping in the US will be included. Thanks to all who support CT Machining. You are appreciated!!!:handshak: |

I do not "etch". I engrave :). There is not a whole bunch of room to put more than a few characters and the color is up to the customer. I thought you wanted 2 anyways cause of the octane ratings? |

Fuel Line bracket
Looked at mine as I was getting a few measurements and dang if mine is not broken, too. Guess it's good I'm machining these.
Great progress today on the protype and WILL have a finished one (pics, too) by Wednesday. I think it'll be Tuesday but I'll give a little cushion for any unforeseen issues. The prototype so far has me very excited as it looks great and know that this will help alot of owners. Check your clip closely and get your name added to the list early. Thanks, Carter  |
Re: Billet fuel Line bracket list

Yes, I can and will make the Billet handle. Engraving other than OIL will be an option. I WILL paint in the OIL in red. This will be the next "project" in line after the Billet Fuel Line bracket. |
Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
How about just like the original with a billet black handle and white lettering? I'd be a playa

4 Attachment(s)
The Billet fuel line bracket prototype is done and installed on my Z. I sent pics to Dynomite and he immediately ordered 2 which are paid for now. There is NO way that the fuel lines can move and fit them perfectly.
I am enclosing pics of the unit. The price is $35 plain and $40 with engraving. Both prices include shipping in the US. Thanks for your support, Carter PS: I'll be contacting the people that signed up on the list and if you want the part PM or just post here and I'll contact you with the payment info. I just finished painting your engraving. You might want to take a break on the PO Box vigil for a few more days. I'll be mailing out to you on Monday. Jim, Thanks for the kind words. Pics from both of you would be great! Again thanks, Carter  |
Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
I received the fuel line clip today. I decided to try installation right away. Things did not go well. Nothing to do with the clip though. When I tried to take the nut off, the stud came out instead. I'm thinking of using epoxy when screwing it back in. When I took the old broken clip off, I dropped it into the engine compartment. It made a sound like it hit the exhaust shielding. It did not fall to the ground and I can't see where it went. I'm afraid it may be inside the shielding and if I leave it there it will melt when things heat up. One day I'm going to jack the car up and try to find the clip from under the car.

Did you order the vintage button from the link? They only have 1 left. Maybe Carter can make you some billet center caps for your wheels with this design? :p |

I just retightened it and installed the bracket with no issues. Be sure to orient the two halves of the billet fuel line bracket by mating the two sides with the RED mark on each half. Thanks again, Carter :handshak: |

Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
Here's my bracket that I got from Carter last week. The quality of his work is extremely nice! It was more difficult than I expected to line up the fuel lines to where they would sit in the bracket correctly but once in place they look fantastic! Here goes a couple of pics...

Re: Searching for a Fuel Line Clip
Carter,
Thanks again! I finally got around to installing the clamp/bracket today. It did not work like the photos in the post above, but I was able to get the clamps to close flush after pulling the entire end part past so that the bracket is holding just the steel braided part line. No matter what I did (red marks matching and all, even flipped around thinking one opening was larger) it would not clamp flush. |
