Site issues

It appears as though several of us are having somewhat related technical issues with the forum. My issue is I'm having to log in twice and the site is not refreshing when I exit a thread which leaves the thread bold as though it has not been read. If I hit refresh (F5) it refreshes and is marked as read. Even when I post and exit it won't show I posted unless I hit refresh. I'm also no longer getting email notifications on subscribed threads.

I know of a couple of more issues with members having trouble being booted out after posting and having to log back in and so forth.

Is anyone else having issues?

I answered some of this on the other post before I saw this one. Please report if you are having similar problems.

Thanks

Dave

My email notification has resumed but there is def a log in issue and it's somehow tied in with the page refreshing after viewing or posting on a thread.

Dave ...

sending this from the "black hole of communications" in central Texas

I started having an issue with logging onto the forum just before I left Georgia and it continues. It sometimes takes 2-3 times to get a successful login and after logging in the page refresh indicates that I'm not logged in, but when you open up more pages I find that I am logged in. Strange behavior. I haven't been able to stay on long enough to get kicked off (lousy wifi hotspot I'm using)

I'm also having issues with logging in to the website ... similar to above but not exact so can't tell if the two are related. For the past several days it's taken two attempts to get logged in ... the first time says I'm in but when I go to another page/section I have to login again. Also strange.

Hope these clues help ... have a great day. I'm having lots of fun here ... NOT!!!

Re: Site issues

Funny...now I'm not even having to log in. I closed my browser and shut off my computer, came back several hours later and I didn't even have to log in yet it said my last visit was 5 hours ago. And it seems to be refreshing correctly after I read a post.

Is this how it's going to be for the last 21 days on earth? Everything is just going to get all jacked up and start acting weird...

If you're having connection issues always try clearing out your cache on your browser first and try again.

I haven't had the logging in issue on this site, but I have on a local club site that uses the same web design. Takes 3-4 times to get in. I found if you click the "remember me" before logging in, it works the first time on that site. The only thing I notice on this one is, if read or type a post for too long it logs me out and I have to log back in.

Re: Site issues

General question to those having problems. Are you accessing the forum through a mobile device? Ipad, tablet, iphone etc

Thanks

Dave

I experienced problems with home computer (win7 & firefox), laptop (both the mac side as well as the win7 side) but have had no problems today. Don't have an iPhone and haven't tried with iPad or iPod.

Re: Site issues

All issues have come from laptop/Win 7. But again, not having any issues right now. They seemed to have cleared up.

Re: Site issues

Yeah, it just took almost 20 secs to load this thread. I was on last night around midnight and did not have this problem but it is very slow now.

Re: Site issues

Opening the thread and responding wasn't slow for me. It's likely to be transient problems caused by Christmas loading. The way the internet works it's very hard to pinpoint slowdowns and connectivity issues in any reliable way. See how it goes over the next week or so.

Thanks

Dave

The opening of threads has been slow for about the last week, however today it is normal again.

Definitely no problems now. Everything is flyin'.

Man, you're good, Dave!

Re: Site issues

The website was down briefly this morning. A server issue arose and caused problems, now resolved.

Good suggestion about the mobile theme - I'll look in to it.

Re: Site issues

Yes, the registry website is already set up with a mobile-compliant skin. The forum is (as yet).

Glad to know it works okay on your iphone, I tested it against as many mobile devices as I could and I know it works on my android device. There are so many mobile devices that it's impossible to check them all.
