Exhaust question?

Guys/Gals
I will be picking up my Z in a few weeks and all I want to change is the exhaust. My car is a 94 z. I know there is a thread on this subject however im looking for a cat back system that sounds aggressive and is good quality requiring no mods. Any suggestions?
Thanks :dontknow:
RAY

Ray, that is how it always starts

Have you seen this thread/poll?

Almost any cat back system you get for the ZR-1 will be close to a direct bolt on, but might need a little fabrication from the muffler shop. The look and sound is very subjective, so make certain of what you want by seeing and/or listening to it in person.

A Flowmaster cat-back exhaust for a 95 ZR-1. This exhaust, when installed on an ZR-1 with a 450-hp LT5 and compared back-to-back on a DynoJet 248H chassis increased the car's performance by 18 hp at the rear wheels. Image: Flowmaster, Inc.

Believe it or not, I bought my last B&B from Mid-America. It arrived with a resonator. B&B exchanged it for shipping. Talk to B&Bs tech department. If they say it can't be done, try another guy there. Ted

Re: Exhaust question?

I bought mine from AJ performance in California for $949 delivered, they told me that B&B told them that they do not make the X pipe for my car? I think I better call B&B myself, and like right now before it is fabricated and shipped. Tybrne wanted $1,089 plus shipping and would not budge offf the price. Good Luck!!

I bought mine from Tbyrne when they had a group buy, and it was a few hundred off of the closest price at the time. Having said that, they apparently do not have one going now, so you should shop around. B&B definitely makes an x-pipe for their ZR-1 Tri-Flow system, but as I mentioned before, it is very loud with resonance between 1,800-2,00 RPM.

You can also ask that your tips be changed from the standard rolled edge(which looks good) to the type of tips I have on mine. There are a few pictures in this thread for you to see.

Good luck

Re: Exhaust question?

Those tips look excellent!! I called B&B and ordered it with an X pipe, however, they claim they only supply the system with rolled tips. I did not want to push it as I was happy to get the X pipe. Sorry to keep raging on TBYRNE, but that lady there really treated me poorly.:blahblah: It only takes one pissed off customer to do some damage.:-({|= I will let it die here as it seems they must be supporting board members along the way and I just had a single incident.:handshak: Thanks for your help and good advice.
