ACC Contour Mats; anybody have them?

1 Attachment(s)
Hey guys,

I have a small area of carpet damage, on the corner area directly to the right of my dead pedal. This car only has 16K on it, so I have no idea how the PO managed to do this. Thinking about buying ACC Contour Mats, hoping they might cover this. Does anybody have them, and do they extend far enough upward to cover this?

Thanks!

They dont. They fit identical to the fit of OEM mats. The rub is common in all C4s as that is where the drivers left foots rests. GM should have extended the rubber foot pad down towards the well area but did not.

Quick fix you can dye the area to hide the wear through spot however replacing the carpet is the only way to do it right

Thanks Daryll. Unfortunately, I don't think I can dye that spot, as there is no carpet left; it's just nylon webbing. Keith at ACC (who was VERY helpful) suggested cutting a small piece from an inconspicuous place and grafting it in. May take it to an upholstery shop and let an expert try that.

I would suggest either buying a new front piece and have the shop graft in a red rubber pad over the top of the area or remove the carpet you have and you have and do the same.

Oh yeah, a larger red rubber pad is an awesome idea; would cover it up and keep it from happening again. Thanks Daryll!

the later C4's had the floor revised and there is more clearance away from the clutch pedal. I noticed that right away when I sold my 95 LT1 car and jumped into my 91 on the very first drive.

The footwell carpets of my ZR-1 have never been walked on. They have always been covered with protective mat called a "weatherboot". Weatherboots are a carpeted continuous plastic sheet molded to fit like a glove in the drivers side and passengers side footwell. They cover the floor and sides of the footwell and are as easy to put in and/or remove as your car mats. The weatherboots will cover the worn area of your carpet.

My carpet is black. Most people, even when sitting in the car, don't notice they are in the car. They cost about $130 shipped to your door.

You can buy as set at http://www.foxweatherboots.com/

Yep, love these things. Weatherboots are what I really wanted, but they stopped making them in colors. Only black now, and my interior is red. They say you can paint them, but I'm very leery of painting semi-flexible vinyl. Plus, even if I did paint the shells red, I'd be stuck with the black carpet they come with. Thanks for the tip, though.
