Re: Delamination Poll
Inside looking out it’s fine. I really don’t give a crap what others think. I just enjoy the ride.

Re: Delamination Poll
Mine has literally no visible delam. Only when the windshield is exposed to LED light that comes in sideways you can recognize a white hue around the edges. It a 91 NY car and windshield seems to be original.

Terrible delamination on '95 #004! Rivals or beats the last ZR-1 in the museum, 5600 miles. Stored inside heated/cooled garage its entire life. In direct sunlight or at night with glares/streetlights/headlights... tough to see.

Re: Delamination Poll
My 90 and 95 both were pretty bad, but Mike?s above is the worst I have ever seen. It is a crime that GM did not fix this issue and warranty all the cars that have this crappy issue. Chicken **** bastards with a car that cost this much new. In some cases the cars are not safe to drive and that was my argument to get insurance to cover replacement.

Re: Delamination Poll
Can't this community with all its network and contacts take care for a run of replacement shields? Maybe even with (near) correct markings? Considering that about 1/4 of more than 300 who ran the poll have issues there is a potential to sell 100 of them. Easily. Plus all those insurance cases. Plus those (like myself) who'd put one on the shelf as spare.
I know from other collector car projects that individual glass solutions are being produced from from 7-10 sets, depending on the manufacturer. So, why wait for GM? Though I need to say that I have no personal experience in ordering bespoke windshields... |
