The stock calibration AYBK does not do anything about the 1 4 shift and the fans. Marc calibration which he calls AYBKG makes those changes and provides some other performance enhancments based on his experience in tuning the LT5.

So buying a AYBK chip/calibration from a dealer will NOT eliminate the skip shift. Marcs calibration is an excellent choice.

Ahhh. So you bought Marc's calibration, not the GM one.

Many probably read your post as buying the stock factory replacement calibration. In which case, as Tyler said, the 1-4 would not be disabled, nor would any appreciable change be made to the fan on temps.

Any chip purchased from a GM dealer would not have the "enhancements" which Marc provides. Although he starts with the most recent GM service replacement cal, he does make several changes, as noted on his website.

I don't know how often folks look at this thread, but I see early in '06 there were some people posting that they needed contact information for Ron Zimmer's Z-Industries.

The email is remmizr@aol.com. The telephone number is 951.303.6857. If you are in So. California and want custom dyno tuning of calibrations, call Drew Zimmer at 951.973.3235. Z-Indstries physical address is: 31200 Santiago Rd., Temecula CA 92592

I have tested LT5 calibrations from DRM, Marc Randolph, Leonhardt Automotive, Jeal and Z-Industries, however, these tests are not recent, having been conducted in 1998. At the time, the Z-Industries calibration made the most power and drove the best.

I would like to run some of the same testing with one of Marc Haibeck's cals but it's going to be awhile, yet, before Barney (my purple project car) gets back on the chassis dyno.

I remember reading a while back someone taking out their Z-Industries chip and trying a different one. They felt a loss and went back to it.

I think everyone would enjoy reading about a current "chip off" when you get the time.

The chip in my car was changed some time before I bought it. Now the problem is I don't know who programed it or exactly what it does. It does do the 1 to 4 shift delete. Does anyone recognize this label? I hope someone can tell me who did this chip
