Too much junk on the hood...non-functional junk...if it were one or ther other, ok...but NACA and vent..not for me anyway

So it looks like if you want a Toledo Pro Hood you need to order by Wednesday this week as the molds have been sold..

Next Week you will have to buy from ACI.. Guess I will have to stick is Stock or maybe the first one posted. I like the one with the NACA Ducts, but I am concerned about fit and prep work required prior to paint..

I like the TP Hood, but too much $$ for me to spend right now, I was looking/hoping to do a hood and then have the rockers and hood painted but it just does not look like that will work out right now

What's the point? I'm genuinely curious because it seems like an anachronism when looking at something like a modern fuel-injected quad-cam engine. In the old carb days, cowl induction could be used (fairly easily) to guide air to the carb by taking advantage of a high pressure area. But to do that with a ZR-1 you would have to completely redesign the intake, reversing it and going with something completely new. If not actual cowl induction, I could see it making room for a high rise manifold or a supercharger, but then you're talking serious money. If the goal is weight savings, surely someone could fabricate a lighter stock-profile hood (carbon fiber anyone?).

Then again if it's appearance only....well that's kinda like putting Kate Upton in a pair of overalls. Still sexy but kinda wtf?

Because I am in need of a hood.. I have don e other things to the car to make it my own, this was potential as one of them..

I have done BFR Rockers, Prowler M1.. why? because I liked the looks

I will probably end up with an OEM hood, but I like the first one is a 1" bulge, that just sets it apart from the rest, subtle enough to not be obvious at first glance

So out of all the hoods, I would choose the one I first posted.. I am not too big a fan of the vents so I am on the fence regarding it, but I need to wait for it to release

weight reduction and improved underhood heat removal, plus it looks cool.

seems like enough points to me

I can definitely appreciate making it your own, go for it! Lord knows I've done a lot of stuff to my own cars over the years. I just always pictured cowl induction hoods on big muscle cars designed to run the 1/4 mile, not sports cars capable of shaming Europe's best. I guess what draws me to the C4 are the clean elegant lines, and this seems to disrupt that.

It does look cool though. :D

My throttle body used to rub on the underside of my stock hood.
