yes, the injectors, coils and spark plug wires look new which is a good thing.

About the year of the engine: yes, I think they just kept the original engine plate. I will send you a picture of the engine code which corresponds to one from 1990 if I am not mistaken .. the code is: 10ZS X0030

Re: Secondary fuel pump and chip problem

The pictures you have shown display the purge solenoid and associated pipework under the plenum which means it is 91 and up. So since the secondaries are deleted a stock calibration will not work as it would not work for any Model Year with spt delete. The number stamped on the engine block, drivers side above the oil pan, does not really matter unless the last eight digits of the vin number stamped on the rear of the block passenger side match the vin of the vehicle. By that I mean that between 90 and 92 the long block is the same and even if you had a 93 to 95 long block it would work.

Re: Secondary fuel pump and chip problem

Hello again,

I have just returned from a road test in order to fully describe my impressions So when I am in normal mode the car drives very well, no worries from 800 to 6000 rpm.
on the other hand when I switch to full mode from 800 to 4000 rpm the car drives very well (I clearly feel the difference with the normal mode, the car is much more powerful) but I have the impression that after 4000 rpm it's the end, she doesn't want to give anything anymore. to describe the moment when I am in full mode at 4000 rpm I would say that it is quite calm, it is not jerky .. I do not have the symptom of running into a wall ... which I now find it weird, is that in full mode I clearly feel a difference with the normal mode ... so that means that the secondary injector stage activates anyway and therefore that the chip might not be that bad ...? I also wanted to tell you that when the engine is hot, I hear often a clicking noise at the level of the flywheel .. apparently very common on zr-1, when I accelerate nothing at all. and it can disappear like coming back after 2min...how often does it happen to you?
thank you so much for helping me..hope you don't mind.

Ok, so...we're back to possible MEM-CAL issues and that code 41 the only solutions to which are:
1) Faulty connection between the MEM-CAL and its socket
2) Faulty or incorrect MEM-CAL
3) Faulty ECM.

ok...i will check at connection / ground....
because logically if the chip is the original one, I would have code 61 for the secondary butterflies ... but I don't have it

Any possibility that boogered up connection at the dis might have RTV in it prohibiting a good connection?

You have what appears to be an original chip with unknown programming on it and a Code 41. I would replace the chip with a known correct program first and go from there. Any other diagnostic attempt at this point is futile.

There may be some more issues lurking around, but I couldn't agree more: that chip is suspect and that possibility needs to be eliminated next!

Re: Secondary fuel pump and chip problem

I am coming back to you, to tell you the latest news.
I spoke with Marc, he advised me before ordering a chip to look at the fuel pressure and test my injectors. The fuel pressure seems okay at idle, unfortunately I could not yet find a solution to test it while driving.
However, I tested my injectors; 1 primary injector does not work at all, two others are dripping, then 1 secondary injector is continuously flowing and two others are dripping. So I ordered a set of 16 injectors to get off to a good start. I think that will also solve the noise problem I hear from time to time at the flywheel.
I'll keep you posted, if the problem isn't fixed, think it's time to look for a new chip. have a good week :)
