Re: Comments on Cars for Sale
And I'll apologize here if my comments were harsh, I'm definitely passionate about my arguments. The mentality that you have to have bought and sold 5+ ZR1s to understand valuation is a pretentious attitude to have though. Their are thousands of people who value cars for a living who have never owned the cars they value. I don't claim to be an expert and I'm in no way telling the people who were arguing the other side that they were completely wrong. They weren't. I'm not some new jack to classic car valuation though. More like we were arguing two sides of the same coin. Being willing to concede is apparently something more than a few of us struggle with...lol.

Re: Comments on Cars for Sale
I wonder if any other Corvette registries, example Z06,C1,C2,C3,C5 etc etc have these opinions of values on there cars......I guess it's because from what I understand the C4 ZR-1 was the most expensive car sold in the nineties...
Corvette did a good job at marketing this car back in the nineties ( Fastest car in the world) Sometimes I think they should have listened to what worked in the 60s early 70s,just put a big block in it with a high rise hood....What would have been wrong with an all aluminum 427 produced by Chevy? |

Re: Comments on Cars for Sale
Opinions on valuations of our ZR-1s are just that....opinions. The market sets the values, not us. If one feels they have a $40,000 or $25000 Beast, its your car, you set the price. Two years ago I could of never afforded to get into one, but the market changed, and I now own my dream car.......

I made that thread last time this happened. And all the people who wanted to discuss/argue their point disappeared. Then it happened again in the next for sale thread. I definitely helped exacerbate that problem, but didn't start it. Not any more. The other thread isn't going anywhere and I will keep my opinion about valuations there. And I have PM'd three different people over the couple years I've been here about where they had items priced, based on what I had recently paid and what some other identical items were listed for other places. Drastically different reactions. One person who wasn't a regular and one who was both responded graciously. The third, who was a regular was absolutely obnoxious. Oh well. Quote:
