Wish I could have been there to run and support you guys. I should be out of my hand / wrist cast in a month; if you guys make the run in October, I'll be there.

People came from quite a distance. Fox body Cobra w Whipple drove 900miles from N.Dakota. They were there from Florida, Nebraska, Minnesota, Georgia, Wisconsin, etc.

Not to mention, there were some really rare exotics there - eye candy for any car lover.

The GT40 is one of my favorite cars. This supercharged Ford GT40 is owned by a guy that also has a ZR-1 with, he says, less than 500 miles. "I bought it as an investment". That hasn't worked out so well tho" he said.

Also there was a Lambo and a Ferrari 458, and a 560 hp Ford V8 powered Sunbeam there that was fun to watch. I spoke with the owner - really nice, down to earth guy.

Racing or watching, these 1/2 mile events are fun and exciting to watch!

A completely different crowd than what you find at the drag strip. Machinery is much more sophisticated. People aren't putting junk up on the track that they just slapped together. At these speeds, you'd be toast.

Here's the note AMS wrote regarding their impressions of the event. After reading this, it makes you want to see a TT LT-5 line up and watch some eyes get wide. If Al did 160 on ALL MOTOR, imagine a TT w NOS like these GTRs run.

"HOT AND HUMID but what weekend.

First and foremost congrats to all of our customers who put down fantastic times in that swamp heat this weekend!

* Mike, your car is a F'n animal and you sir are one of the coolest and collected guys I know. 213.0682mph is FLYING!
8.8@182 in the 1/4 on the V-box......WOW!

* Gidi, If there is a more passionate GT-R owner out there I haven't met him yet. 210mph in 2640ft... Incredible. you must of made 8-9 passes. You battled a weird Syvecs issue all weekend but thankfully we got it resolved. Too bad it was too late to get one last run in.

* Matt's ALPHA 9 on 100 octane was doing work all weekend. He was hot lapping that thing to 175mph pass after pass after pass.

* Ray's ALPHA 9 on pump gas I'm told touched 170mph which is fantastic for a pump gas ALPHA 9

* Nick's Ronin blasted off a very stout 175mph pass on Saturday before being ousted by the monsoon that rolled on us.

* Brian's TSM build ALPHA 12 juuust missed the 200 mark with a 199. In those conditions that's outstanding!

* CMC's police cruiser 3.8 ALPHA 12 with a TSM E85 tune put down a 200mph pass on Saturday. REALLY stout considering the extra weight from all the Police lights lol.

* Our shop ALPHA 10 997 Porsche put down a very respectable 183mph pass.

The Nth Moto guys are class acts and that car is honestly a rolling work of art. We are a hard group to impress but they did just that. In regards to the times being identical down to the ten thousandth of a second its a bit hard to swallow but what can you do. Both cars deserve honors for what they did. The GT-R crowd can take comfort in the fact that it seems the only real competition we have comes in the form of twin turbo V10's... I will take that

On to Omega:

SpecV, Omega has ran an Air to water cooler for a LONG time. We have stated that several times on here.

Saturday and Sunday's weather was crap...but it was crap for everyone else too. Ivan went out to make what would be his only pass for the event. The car was MOVING. At the 2050ft mark at about 38psi it hit 210mph. Unfortunately right at that point she kicked off an intercooler pipe and it took out the fender so the run was over and he coasted to 204mph at the stripe. With 600ft more to accelerate we can only speculate to what number it would of hit.

Upon returning to the pit Ivan noticed that the car was pushing a bit of coolant. Between that and the IC pipe our day was over. Thankfully we had some customer cars willing to carry the torch and boy did they ever!

This is part of the process when you push boundaries. If it was easy everyone would do it. The good news is we have a great team here that are as motivated as they come ready to tackle anything that comes at them. She will be back out better than ever before you know it.

Thank you again to everyone that came out drivers and spectators alike. What a phenomenal weekend. Now I need to go see if we can get a group buy on some Aloe Vera gel.... It's a lobster net at AMS!

Eric"

Re: 1/2 Mile shootout today!

Some additional info on the TT Viper that took the marbles away from AMS GTRs

Nth Moto's twin turbo Dodge Viper that took home all the trophies this past weekend.

Some facts you may find interesting...

• Full weight car plus a 10 pt NHRA certified roll cage.
• The car runs oiled cone style air filters at all times.
• Race maintenance consists only of detailing the car, adding ice to the intercooler system, warming the tires, pulling data logs, raising the boost, and waiting for the next round.
• No component failures since the car was completed.
• No nitrous.
• No slicks or cheater slicks. Rear tires are real 18" DOT drag radials.
• AEM Infinity ECU, traction control, and boost control is out of this world amazing! No other boxes or expanders required!

Here's a vid of that Viper
