Are GM ZR1 plenum gaskets available anymore? Any chance in hell of finding ZR1 plenum gaskets at OReilly or AutoZone ?

GM gaskets are available, at about 100 per set.

Autozone or Oreilley or any aftermarket parts house will not have any gaskets for the LT5.

I believe it's www.jerrysgaskets.com

I would inspect your injectors for leaks around the sealing surface in the injector housing.

Re: Got it running -- hesitates when cold

Update: Now that I've finally corrected my vacuum leak (faulty secondary solenoid), I turned the key to "on" with the plenum off, and I sure don't hear the fuel pump running. Hooked up my fuel pressure gauge to the rail and the needle hardly moves -- up to 8-10psi or so -- push the pin of the schrader valve in, and a brief little "hiss" of fuel, then nothing.. not the geyser I would expect. Pump dead/dying? I have a spare pump assembly here....

Follow-up: I replaced the fuel pump assembly, turn key and it primes, 40psi at the rail. Old pump evidently had failed, and hopefully was a major contributing factor to poor driveability.

Hang in there you'll get it right.

Update - new pumps, new FIC injectors (thanks Jon for excellent customer service!), new GM coils from jeffvette, new plugs and wires, new secondary solenoid, and it runs really well! Still could use some tuning, I think, but it's probably 95% of the way to where it should be -- and I'm thrilled :-)

Your saga has a familiar ring. Mine had similar issues when I bought it, vacuum system leaks, mouse chewed plug wires, coils caked in mouse droppings and pee, sundry rubber items. But! after a couple plenum pulls, all was well and it has been a joy ever since. (Wait till ya port the top end, if not done already. That will be an eye opener!!)

Well, hats off to your perseverance. Sounds like you are being well rewarded! Welcome to the Brotherhood of the Beast!
