Howdy Mom,
At the risk of sounding crabby, is there any way to get the avatar's and profile information over to the left side of the message (formatted like the Corvette Forum) rather than taking up tons of vertical space above each and every message? Either for just myself, or forum wide? This is one of the several things I have against forums... you have to scroll, and scroll, and scroll, and scroll some more. Of course, the avatar's are a tiny part of the problem compared to the inconsiderate people that have images or 10 lines of text in their signature for their one line "me too" or "high-five" replies that post (often more than several times in a row). Do they not realize that their image shows up in every message they post, even on the same page, and that it makes it hard to quickly read multiple messages in a row? I would prefer that HTML that displays images in the signature not be allowed - that stuff belongs in your profile.

Another objection: try to type a couple spaces in order to indent a new paragraph. It removes the indent, even though I supposedly have the editor set to WYSIWYG. Even if you take your hands off the keyboard and use the mouse to click on the indent, it ignores it!

Switching topics slightly, with regard to the the listserv, you said in the other area:
Quote:

If the listserver was to go away the archive of past emails will still be there and available as it is today.
My point is that it won't be searchable by the forum search function - which means that as time goes on, fewer and fewer people will likely use it (or even know about it).

There has surely got to be a (not too difficult) way to import all those old TECH emails - especially if they were presented to the import software as a unix-style mailbox of email messages.

Regardless of the above, thank you again for all your hard work!

Marc

Howdy all! Figured I'd pop in here and say thanks to Mom for putting all of this together.

I'm kind of bummed that the signature won't allow more than 100 characters since 50 of them are taken up just by me posing a picture in it.

Anyway, glad to be here!!!

mrand your wish is my command. :-D

The profile info is now on the left side.

Thanks to zr1mom!

I know I'm late with this thanks but I've always been a day late & a dollar short! :o
Thank you zr1mom for this great club and site. It feels like home to me! I've no clue how much work this took because I'm P/C illiterate. I know I would rather have root canal work than do this computer stuff.
Thanks from a rookie Z owner!
Tom

My 2 cents: The forum is great, but I still get quicker responses from the thread! :???: Anyway, THANKS MOM!! The whole "ZR1 Net" thing has been a great help already, and we have only been ZR1 owners for a few weeks.

That's why we have both. Each offers something the other doesn't so you get the best of both worlds!

Welcome aboard!
