I did mine lying on my back in 30 degree Seattle weather one January, without removing the exhaust. Its tight, but it can be done. With a lift? Probably cut the install time in half. Spent more time getting the car up high enough on jack stands than installing the shifter. Good luck.:cheers:

I can't comment on the install as I had Bill place the shifter in my new trans when he built it.
