Countach's and Testarossa's are money pits! That scares me. :|

I bet we could squeeze 345 in there. ;)

I have 345/19s on mine. Its a tight fit requiring some bolt head shaving.
Phil has them also.

It's a bit easier to get power out of the LT5's. My 96 LT4 has AFR heads, ram air, torquer cam, long tubes and 3" exhaust. Putting out about 480 at the crank. Irene, my white 91 Z has 500hp with headers, ram air and plenum porting with a tune. Heads ported and more aggressive cams could net another 50hp or more. These cars sound really good at redline.

There are plenty of good ZR-1 owners on this forum that are happy to help out with a PPI or technical assistance. Might require a 12 pack of beer or a take out pizza ;)

I would be surprised if you got 125HP from just those mods... 450CHP maybe. I would think a 475-500chp LT4 would put a hurting on a sub 500HP LT5, on everything under 120mph.

I love the LT5, but the cost of making an LT4 fast is just so cheap compared to the LT5.

A full exhaust and 4:10 would be the most I would do to a Z personally.

My motor put down 400rwhp with ported top end and headers. And the real difference is that power peak is at 6800rpm w a torque peak of 5300. Your LT4 is panting after 5000rpm. If you do your own porting, its pretty inexpensive.

You're questioning the people that live and breath ZR-1s? They mod the piss out of them and they do know what they are talking about. You can have an LT4 or you can have a ZR-1,as different as night and day. Spend the money on a solid car and you won't have to worry about a money pit. Interest in ZR-1s seem to be picking up so get a nice one while you can.

Check out car gurus.....There's a 90 blk/blk with 47,000 miles with a lot of performance up grades including what they say is a 10,000 dollar paint job...

Motor is powder coated black with red lettering and looks real sharp...Has chrome A -molds, aftermarket, the rears don't have the deep lug design...Never the less the car looks great....

Car is located in South Carolina with an asking price of around 23,800 if I remember correctly......If I Didn't have mine I would check this one out....Lots of performance upgrades, which, trust me, can add up.....
