Have you checked the plugs yet for Tracking as Joe described?

Loy's of problems can 'hide' under high rpms.

Ok changed plugs, fuel filter, put new fuel and still sputters. Drove 5 miles with new fuel don't know if that's enough time to mix in.

If you mean distributer cap,no. Taking off plenum looks like a nightmare?

I thought the same thing but once you get into it, it isn't that hard. drain some coolant, 10 bolts, some connectors and you're there. the zr-1 doesn't have a distributer cap.

Me thinks there are 12 bolts ;)

Removing Plenum (including the 10 minute Plenum Removal)

Ok they have coils,is there a way to check if there bad? It almost seems it cuts out while sputtering.
