Re: Cracked Air Filter Housing

THANKS everyone.
The car is a bone stock 90, black with grey interior and I plan to keep it that way.
I will try the welding plastic method. We just did a plenum pull with new injectors and are now replacing the hides and seat foam after rebuilding the seat mechanisms. Next is the radio capacitors and air conditioning.
We have two projects here. We are putting the 90 back in shape and also building a 66 coupe with an LT-5 engine. The 66 car will be an automatic designed for comfortable cruising.

Black urethane made by 3M and used to install windshields will work and be there forever. Be sure not to get it on your skin. You`ll have to wear it off.

That would called BUTYL. Good product for what you need. Fusor makes some excellent adhesives as well.

Actually what I think Richard Till is referring to is 3M 5200 adhesive. That's best stuff I've ever worked with, it's a moisture cure cross linking urethane adhesive, comes in black and white. We use all the time in boat building. It's a permanent binder. It's slightly flexible and insoluble in most solvents and water proof.

If the welding doesn't work I will use the 5200.

Try getting a hold of Shawn at Corvettenutz. I know he has those intakes- all the LT1 styles are the same and I know he parted out a couple of low mileage cars too (both ZR-1's and LT1's).

The reason I mention it is because he is in lake Elsinore so that's not too far to make the drive if the price is good.
