I've used a matte finish top coat spray paint with good results. However none of the parts will likely have the heat that the LT5 plenum will have.

back in 1990 and 1991 I had about 8 put their names on it and it was done with black marker. it has nothing over it, looks the same as the day they did it. Car has 31,000 miles.

I only use a damp rag with water to clean the top of motor when it needs it.

I would just leave it as is and it will be fine.
