Agreed. Hopefully that was not this kids way of getting ready. Far as I'm concerned, if the teachers were armed, there would not have been near as many bodies.

I don't think there is anything anyone could do in a practical way to prevent this kind of evil. I mean if you sat in a think tank and focused on the most evil thing an individual could do you couldn't come up with one worse than this. Short of having a well trained professional armed guard in all schools I just don't see a prevention scenario.

There is no way I will not be able to think of those 20 kids on Christmas morning. End of the world? Not likely but it's a reminder that true evil does still exist. Keep your powder dry.

I don't consider myself a Bible Thumper (my term only) but if the last few years are a sign of the furture, I wouldn't rule ANYTHING out.

It was mentioned on Fox News that the shooter's brother said the shooter had a mild form of Asperger's Syndrome - google it and you will understand the problem. He might have been off some medications too. I have a distant acquaintance with Asperger's and he definitely does not play well with others.

No mentally sound human would ever do such a thing. Nothing, absolutly nothing is worse than losing your child. My heart goes out to those poor parents. Their lives will never be the same. For every act of evil, there is always those who do good, like the woman who sacrificed herself trying to save the kids. You just don't hear about the do-gooders, not news worthy, most of the time.

Happened twice to me today. Once after a commercial with a child in it and once just now as my 20 something son left.
The pure suffering those families are going through.
There's just no fixing it.
Only time will make it hurt less for all of us.
