Re: Mecum Auction
Theres and LPE car at an auction in the future with my name on it. Once you've had a ride in one you don't want to go back. It's just that simple. And they come up for auction more than I thought they would.

Re: Mecum Auction
I still feel like I paid too much for my 91 ($20k). Only 26,900 mi and clean looking, but a few too many repairs to ever break even.

Re: Mecum Auction
Word^^^ This is my second C4. I don't know if there will be a third, but there is more than one way to buy them- just depends if you are willing to have a high-miler with a little wear and tear on the interior and paint, or a perfect one.
My old 95 was a little beat up, but I daily drove it through the rain and parked it where ever. I actually enjoyed it-perhaps because of that. Still had somewhat low mileage, but it was an off color and I got it for a good price. |
Re: Mecum Auction
I paid $18k for my car with 65K on the od. I have done a ton of work, all the common stuff (secondaries, Inf Rest, battery, master & slave cylinders, tires, battery etc) plus odds and ends to get everything working the way it should and interior (seats etc) cd, speakers, ac,
So now, with 76K on the clock, she runs purrrfect!! Worth every nickle!! However, it probably would not sell for more than I paid ($18K) I look at these cars with low miles and asking big bucks, and think they will need the same fixes because most are just time related. Rubber and plastic gets brittle and breaks, seals dry up and wires get hard and brittle. So I say it is better to buy a car with miles that has everything functioning and has been well taken care of and driven!! |
