Question on my engine power key/switch
Hello all, first post here.
I have a 1991 ZR-1 with 40,000 miles on it. It has a DRM chip. Recently my engine will slip out of full engine power. This only happens occasionally. I engage full engine power, the light comes on, and sometimes the light goes off. Sometimes after switching it back on several times it stays on. Sometimes it stays on without disengaging. I am confident that it is not just the light because when it slips out of FEP I notice the lack of power. I have not checked for any codes yet. I do not have a service engine light showing. Hello, and welcome to the forum Dennis.
I was hoping someone would have had a similar problem and have been able to give you some advice, since I'm not sure what is going on. Let's hope someone comes along with a suggestion, but if not, let us know what it is when you get it diagnosed. |

Welcome to the ZR-1 family. I have almost the same problem and found the "sweet spot" and just leave it on all the time. At some point I am going to replace the switch. I notice the switch has some play in it and I cannot think out anything else. Craig 1990 #1727 |

The 91 up switch has to be turned on at each start up, unlike the 90 that will stay on.
If you replace the switch be sure to get the right one..
