Default wheel shipping

I'm going to be selling a set of wheels and while local pickup is always easiest, I might have to ship them. How do you guys ship wheels so they arrive in good condition, and how much should I expect shipping to run?

There are a few, possibly useful links at the top of this page:

https://www.google.com/webhp?sourcei...eels&tbs=qdr:y

I don't have any personal experience with any of them, but I remember someone recently recommending a site that had a pretty generic name, such as shipyourwheels.com or something like that.

Just wheels? or tires included?

I have found shipping just wheels is easy and most carriers will ship them.. if tires are included, they now are much heavier and sometimes awkward to find the right size boxes

Actually wheels with tires are easier, if heavier. You ship them with cardboard to cover the wheels, and otherwise just wrapped. The tires themselves are perfect protection. I've done that a couple different times with no problems. But these ZR-1 wheels are BIG. I suppose I can find boxes and do a heavy bubble wrap, just wondering if anyone had done it before.

Yes, I've shipped several sets of wheels this way via UPS. There wasn't a problem as the wheels arrived fine.

I shipped 4 ZR-1 wheels to Norway (from Maine) a few months ago. Cost me a total of $339.68 USD, I used NEX.

I used carpet rolls from the dollar store to protect the lips. I shipped the wheels in 2 boxes (1 rear and 1 front in each box).

Here's some pictures:

They`ll fit nicely with padding in a case size box of paper towels. Tape all four sides. Tape two boxes together and ship two instead of four. My experience is that they get treated very rough. Fed-X delivered a set of wheels and i could see the wheel from outside the box. It was skuffed but the seller said that it lightly was. A file and sandpaper and all is well.
